St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, North Baltimore

“Listen To Him” is Pastor Ralph Mineo’s sermon topic at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in North Baltimore on Transfiguration Sunday, February 26 at 10:15 a.m.

Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:00 a.m.

Following worship and lunch the youth group, with some adults, will leave for an afternoon “Snow Tubing Trip” at Mad River Mountain.

Sunday School begins at 9:15 a.m. A joint adult Sunday School is with the McComb United Methodist Church.

Some members will join St. Luke’s for the “Snow Tubing Trip.”

Lady Tigers to Play for Sectional Title

The North Baltimore High School Lady Tiger Basketball team will be playing in the OHSAA Sectional Title game tonight at Bluffton High School.

The North Baltimore High School Lady Tiger Basketball team will be playing in the OHSAA Sectional Final game tonight at Bluffton High School.

The Tigers will be facing the #3 seed, Wayne Trace, who has a 20 – 3 record. They will play in the Bluffton High School gym at approximately 8:00.

NB Boys Beat Vanlue in B-Ball

The North Baltimore High School Boys Basketball team traveled to Vanlue for a Blanchard Valley Conference game with the Wildcats on Friday night.

The North Baltimore High School Boys Basketball team traveled to Vanlue for a Blanchard Valley Conference game with the Wildcats on Friday night.

The Tigers had little trouble taking care of business, as they cruised to a 66 – 43 win. NB was up 13 – 6 after the 1st and 30 to 18 at the half. NB dominated in the 3rd with a 19 – 8 advantage, for  49 – 26 lead going into the final stanza and closed out the 23 point win in the 4th.

Julian Hagemyer was the top scorer with 18 points, he also grabbed 8 rebounds. Adam Flores was in double figures for the second straight game hitting 10 points and he also grabbed 8 rebounds. Brady Rader also scored 10 points, with 3 assists. Chase Naugle had 9 points, 7 steals and 5 assists; Levi Gazarek hit for 8 points; Filip Franjic had 6 points; Noah Brian had 3 points, 5 steals and 3 assists; Noah Cotterman knocked down a two-pointer.

NB won the JV game 28 – 13.

North Baltimore finishes the BVC season at 5 – 6, with a 11 – 10 overall record.

The Tiger Boys will be in action this week, opening OHSAA Sectional Tournament play, Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Riverdale (Findlay District), against these same Vanlue Wildcats, tip-off is at 6:15.

 

Owens Women’s Basketball Team Breaks Scoring Record

Olivia Frost had 4 points and 2 rebounds……………

The No. 2 Owens WBB team (27-0) stayed undefeated with a 101-36 win over Hocking College in the SHAC last Sunday afternoon. Owens has now reached the century mark 10 times this year, which breaks the record previously held by last year’s team.

Owens will be back in action on Wednesday at home against Lakeland Community College at 5:30 p.m. With a win, the team can clinch a share of its fifth straight Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) championship.
