Stop by any time during the afternoon the first Saturday of each month to see farm staff and volunteers in action working on the farm. In October, we’ll be harvesting by hand our first heritage ear corn and putting it up in the corn crib.

Need to complete an Ohio Division of Wildlife Hunter Education course for your hunting license? Finish your Home-Study course with one of our rangers. Please register online at http://wildlife.ohiodnr.gov/education-and-outdoor-discovery/hunter-and-trapper-education with the “Find a Course” link in the Home-Study Course section. Topics covered include wildlife conservation, safety, and the proper handling of firearms and other hunting equipment. Please note that all registration and coursework must be completed in advance. We are unable to accept walk-ins the day of the program. Registration ends Sunday, Oct 1 to allow for completion of the online portion of the class.

Scarecrow Contest & Workshop

Join in on the fun of the fall tradition of building scarecrows. We provide the straw, string, support pole, and refreshments; you bring scarecrow clothes, decoration, and support for the scarecrow’s back and arms (to attach to the display pole, if needed). You can take it home or enter it in our 15th Annual Scarecrow Contest to win cash prizes! Forms will be available at the workshop. Contest scarecrows will be left on display for our October 14th Folklore and Funfest at the Historical Center. Limited scarecrow clothes available, first come first served.

You will have a ghoulishly good time at this free family-friendly event full of fall fun. Enjoy wagon rides, apple cider pressing, live music, storytelling, s’mores, games in Booville, a spooky trail and more! Costumes are encouraged, but not required.
