Continuum of Care Wood County is hosting their 3rd annual Project Connect Wood County (PCWC). PCWC is designed to provide immediate goods and services to Wood county residents who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of losing resources needed to secure and maintain housing. This event will be held on October 14, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 315 S. College Ave., Bowling Green.
In 2014, 187 households (298 individuals) attended PCWC with almost half being families with children. The goal for 2015 is to serve 200-300 individuals and families in need of supportive services. Among the services offered by over 50 providers will be hot meals, haircuts; dental, mental health and medical care; IDs, employment assistance, housing and so many more!
Along with providing basic needs and critical services to individuals and families, an additional positive outcome for service providers is the opportunity to network with different agency members and reinforce relationships, collaborations and partnerships.
Over 300 volunteers will be needed for a successful PCWC2015. To register as a volunteer, go to http://tinyurl.com/PCWCvolunteer2015.
Clothing and personal care products needed are: winter coats, boots, hats, mittens and scarves; shampoo, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste (for children & adults), soap, razors, combs, hairbrushes, feminine products. These items may be dropped of at the Fringe Thrift Store in the Woodland Mall. Store hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10 am – 7 pm.
