On Saturday, December 2nd, the Wood County Historical Center & Museum will host a December Demonstration Day including historical German Christmas activities inside the Log Cabin and free museum admission from 1-4 PM.
Costumed interpreters invite the public to take part in German-influenced Christmas traditions to include decorating, making Victorian-era ornaments, caroling, and a reading of the classic poem A Visit from St. Nicholas, better known at T’was the Night Before Christmas. The poem will be read at 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 and the caroling will take place at 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30. Demonstration Days are sponsored by the Northwestern Ohio Tractor Pullers Association.
The museum will also be open for self-guided tours of the award-winning exhibit “Over There! Send Word, the Wood County Boys are Coming! WWI 1914-1918.” The museum is handicap accessible and will offer free admission from 1-4 PM.
