Carolyn S. Bretz, 81, NB

Carolyn S. Bretz, 81, of North Baltimore, Ohio passed away peacefully at 5:45 am on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Briar Hill Health Campus after a long illness.

Carolyn was born on January 17, 1934 to Robert B. and Ethel Jones in Akron, Ohio. She had two siblings, Robert E. Jones and Kathleen Butler both of whom preceded in her death.

She was married to Russell M. Bretz, Sr. and he survives. Together they had two sons; Russell M. Bretz, Jr. of Culver City, California and Richard D. Bretz of Columbus, Ohio. They also had four grandchildren, James M. Bretz, and Matthew R. Bretz of Akron, Ohio and Jennifer M. Scanlon (Anthony) and Jessica S. Bretz of Columbus, Ohio.

Also, surviving are many, many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn worked for 25 years in the Springfield Local School District (Summit County – Akron, Ohio), as a playground monitor and she also called for substitute teachers. She retired in 1995.

There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the American Legion Post  539 located on American Legion Drive in North Baltimore, Ohio. Pastor Susan Kronbach will be officiating. Service will be at 11:00 am; lunch will follow.
