Cecelia “Tess” Dauterman, 87, of Bowling Green

Cecelia “Tess” Dauterman, 87, of Bowling Green, died at 9:35 a.m., Monday, August 3, 2015, at the Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore.

She was born on March 18, 1928, in Tiffin, OH to the late Urban and Cecelia (Harter) Boehler. She married Val H. Ford on August 19, 1948, and he preceded her in death on March 27, 1974. She later married Kenneth I. Dauterman on February 12, 1977, and he preceded her in death on May 30, 1997.

Cecelia is survived by her son, Dan (Jean) Ford of North Baltimore; her daughter, Sarah (Terry) Gonyer of Rudolph; her beloved grandchildren: Stacy (Brad) St. Clair, Greg (Amber) Gonyer, Shelley (Brian) Gonyer-Hosler, Jeremy Ford, Danielle (Tim) Engard and Jacob (Rosie) Ford; her great-grandchildren: Hayden, Madelyn, Jenna, Cailynn, Tess, Krista, Haylee, Sidney, Henry, Gabby, Arianna and Vivian. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Joseph and Edward Boehler; her sisters: Mary Gerhardstein and Ann Johnson; and her great-granddaughter, Henleigh Ryann Engard.

Cecelia was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She also worked for the Wood County Hospital from 1974-1978, and then on election day for the Wood County Board of Elections for 30 years.

She was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Bowling Green, where she participated in the Circle of Life, the weekly one hour devotions and often helped with the funeral dinners. She also had worked for the church’s “Next to New Shop” and had been active in the Portage Center Ladies Aide. Cecelia volunteered for the Heart Fund Drive and for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Societies.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 7, 2015, at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Bowling Green. Father Mark Davis celebrant. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore.
