BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – October 19, 2015
The Bowling Green Curling Club is offering everyone the chance to learn to curl Tuesday, October 27,(7-9pm) Wednesday October 28 (6-8pm and 8-10pm) and Thursday (6-8pm and 8-10pm) at the BGSU Ice Arena. Certified curling instructors will teach the basics of curling including throwing rocks and sweeping, and everyone will get the chance to play a short game.
The cost is $20 per person and all equipment will be provided. Curlers should wear comfortable clothing and bring clean athletic shoes with them to avoid getting dirt on the ice.

“Curling is a great sport,” said Shannon Orr, club member “it’s easy to learn but a challenge to master. It definitely makes the long winters of Northwest Ohio more fun. There’s nothing like the thrill of throwing a great rock. We have a very supportive and encouraging club and new members are always welcome.”
For those who want to continue to learn more about curling, the Club will also be hosting a beginner league after the week of learn to curl classes. New members can also join the regular leagues as well, experienced curlers will
The Bowling Green Curling Club is the only curling club in Northwest Ohio. The Club offers weekly leagues from October to April as well as hosting tournaments. Many of the club members compete nationally and internationally in curling tournaments called bonspiels. Curling has been an official Olympic sport since the 1998 Nagano Games.
