Charles Lee McCartney, Sr., 79, NB

Charles Lee McCartney, Sr., 79, of North Baltimore, died on March 14, 2016, at the Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green.

He was born on July 13, 1936, in North Baltimore to the late Lincoln and Margaret (McCartney) Reichenbach.

He married Betty M. Seibert on July 24, 1970, and she survives. Lee is also survived by his daughters: Rebecca (Rennie) Palmer of Bowling Green, Cheryl Grose of Findlay and Denise (William) Gilles of Ashland, WI; his son, Ken (Karen) Bretz of North Baltimore and Charles McCartney, Jr. of FL; his brother, Harold “Butch” Reichenbach of North Baltimore; his sister, Jean (Vincent) Reza of Findlay; his sister-in-law, Diane Reichenbach; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Ebright; his son, Gary Kaufman; his brothers: Wendell Eugene Reichenbach and Denny Reichenbach; his sister, Maxine Brandeberry; his brother-in-law, Floyd Brandeberry; his son-in-law, Michael Grose.

Lee retired from the Chrysler Corporation in Fostoria. He as a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, North Baltimore American Legion Post 539 and the North Baltimore Masonic Lodge #561. Lee always had a smile and hug for those he knew, he will be missed dearly by his family and friends, he was loved by many.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 18, 2016, at Holy Family Catholic Church, North Baltimore, with Father Arthur J. Niewiadomski Celebrant. Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Township, where full military rites will be conducted by the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Smith-Crates Funeral Home.
