Cindy A. Hofner, rural Bowling Green, is announcing her candidacy for re-election as Wood County Clerk of Courts for the term beginning January 2, 2017. Hofner has served as Wood County Clerk of Courts after winning election to the office in 2008 and 2012. Prior to her election to office, Hofner had served as Chief Deputy Clerk of Courts for numerous years.
“I have enjoyed serving the people of Wood County and I would like to continue to do so,” Hofner said in declaring her candidacy. “While the office has undergone numerous improvements in the past seven years, our first priority is always excellent customer service.”
In the Title Office, Hofner and her staff continue to serve their customers by processing all motor vehicle and watercraft titles and watercraft registrations. The staff is currently looking forward to an updated release of software that will enable their processing of titles to be expedited.
As Clerk of the Common Pleas Court, Hofner continues to move her staff and the courts away from processing paper, making the office operate more efficiently while saving tax dollars.
“We are always looking for ways to improve our office so the public and the courts receive the best service possible,” Hofner said. “We will continue to make upgrades in a cost-effective manner.”
Hofner‘s office is among the first clerk of courts to participate in a new process that allows the Bureau of Criminal Investigation office to pull criminal dispositions from her court records on a weekly basis. This process is done through Ohio Courts Network.
Due to her professional reputation throughout Ohio, Hofner was elected to serve as President of the Ohio Clerk of Courts Association in 2015.
In the community, she continues to be involved as a member of Kiwanis, adult volunteer for Girl Scouts of Western Ohio and Committee Chairperson for Cub Scout Pack #325. She is an active member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Tontogany.
She and her husband, William (Bill), self-employed, owner of Hofner Grading, are parents of two grown children: Andrew, an Agronomist, residing in South Charleston, OH; and Carey, a Sr. Assistant Superintendent for a golf course in Edwards, CO.
