Cloyd “Fred” Hopple, 59, of Findlay, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay.
He was born on February 24, 1955 in Wood County to the late Cloyd “Al” and Charlotte (Bickmyer) Hopple. On October 16, 1971 he married Kay Sterling and she survives.
He is survived by two sons: Charles “Dutch” (Melanie) Hopple of Findlay and Kevin (Megan) Hopple of Findlay; a daughter: Shelly (Donald) LaRotonda of Lima; grandchildren: Harley Cole, Seth Cole, Hannah Hopple, Emme Hopple, Stephanie LaRotonda and Kayla LaRotonda; a brother: William “Bill” Hopple of Findlay, and Chyrel (Cookie) Hopple of Van Buren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Elizabeth Hopple; sister: Suzanne Hopple; granddaughter: Summer Cole; and step brother: Charles “Cork” Spence.
He retired in 2010 as a tool and die maker at Lamson and Sessions in Bowling Green. He enjoyed watching Harley and Seth play sports, Emme practice her cheerleading, Hannah’s drawings, bowling, golf, coaching, listening to live music and going out for midnight snacks. He was a member of the North Baltimore Eagles and the Findlay Moose Lodge.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in North Baltimore. All other services are private.
Memorials may be given to the family in his name.
