This year there wasn’t a poncho in sight. No muddy boots, and the fire wasn’t even lit. The weather was perfect for this year’s Camp Berry Weekend, held in Findlay on May 4th, 5th, and 6th. There were endless walking tacos, shredded chicken sandwiches, pizza, and doughnuts. So many doughnuts. The scouts and scout families played round after round of “Ga Ga ball” and we all enjoyed the annual hike to the fort. Kickball was played and fish were caught. Thanks to Tammy and Eric Trout for all you do to make this event so wonderful for everyone.
May 20th at 6:00 PM was the annual Scout Advancement Event at the American Legion. The scouts were given any recent achievement patches and belt loops and Tiger Leader, Shawn Berger, was given a special award for being the Webelos One “Hero.” Mr. Berger is a nurse and had shared his knowledge about first aid with the boys during one of their den meetings. Congratulations, Shawn!
We wrapped up May with our participation in North Baltimore’s Annual Memorial Day Parade at 9AM on May 28th. Pack #372 marched down Main Street ahead of the Boy Scouts. Parents waved proudly as the boys made their way to the ceremony being held at Old Maplewood Cemetery. There, the boys listened to speeches and placed flags.
