The following is a weekly report concerning construction and maintenance work on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. This report is issued each week beginning in April and continues through November.Work will not occur on Monday of the Memorial Day holiday, although work zones in some areas will remain in place.

Allen County

Defiance County
U.S. 127 from south of Sherwood north to Ohio 249 may be restricted to one lane for sealing of pavement cracks. Work will be done by Defiance County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 49 north of Hicksville north of Huber Road which was scheduled to be closed May 19 for approximately three days for a culvert replacement has been postponed and will now close beginning May 26. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 2 and Ohio 249 back to Ohio 49. Work will be done by Defiance County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 49 north of Ohio 249 has reopened following a culvert repair.
Ohio 2/18/49 in the village of Hicksville which was previously slated for repairs and resurfacing will be postponed for several weeks. When the work restarts it will take place on Ohio 2 from its junction with Ohio 49 at the south edge of town to the south just outside of the village limits. On Ohio 49 work will occur from inside the village to the Williams County line, and on Ohio 18 from within the village to just outside the village limits. Work is being performed by Brooks Construction, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Hancock County
Ohio 12 from Arcadia to the Seneca County line, Ohio 18 from Fostoria west to the Seneca County line, and Ohio 613 from Ohio 235 at McComb to Interstate 75 will be restricted through the work zone for pavement repair and resurfacing beginning June 1. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.
Ohio 15 northbound east of the U.S. 68 junction is one lane through the work zone for a roadside slide repair project which is expected to continue through July. Work is being performed by Sand Ridge Excavating, Cloverdale.
Interstate 75 in Wood and Hancock counties: Through 2016, southbound I-75 is reduced to two lanes from US 20 to I-475 in Perrysburg. Through November, from 8pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg to CR 99 in Hancock County. Through 2016, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between US 20 in Perrysburg to CR 99 in Hancock County. Project complete: October 2017. All work is weather permitting.
Special events . . .
- Effective Monday, April 27, through December, Township Road 101 in Hancock County, between CR 220 and TR 142, will be closed for bridge work on I-75.
Hardin County
Ohio 81 west of Dola as well as an area west of Patterson may experience some lane restrictions which will be maintained by flaggers throughout the next month for culvert lining. Work is being done by BCC Ohio Inc., New London.
Ohio 67 from CR 120 to CR 215 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone during the week for a pavement repair project. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 117 from the Auglaize County line to Roundhead will be restricted to one lane through the work zone during the week for a pavement repair project. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 81 between CR 75 and Dunkirk will be restricted to one lane through the work zone during the week for a pavement repair project. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 195 from Ohio 309 to CR 110 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone during the week for a pavement repair project. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 273 from Ohio 292 to Mt. Victory will be restricted to one lane through the work zone during the week for a pavement repair project. Work is being performed by the Hardin County ODOT maintenance garage.
Paulding County
Ohio 114 east of U.S. 127 to the Putnam County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair. Work is being performed by the Paulding County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 49 through the village of Payne and on Ohio 613 west of the village of Payne to the Indiana line, and from Ohio 500 to U.S. 127 east of Payne will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair followed by resurfacing. Work will continue during the week within the village and to the east of Payne. Paving will begin within two weeks at the state line working east. The project will continue until late June. Work is being performed by Gerken Paving, Bluffton.
U.S. 127 between Garfield Avenue and Jackson Street in the village of Paulding closed April 13 for approximately eight months for a sewer separation project. Traffic detoured onto Ohio 613, Ohio 637 and Ohio 111 back to U.S. 127. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation, Celina.
Putnam County
Ohio 115 between Ohio 695 and Ohio 15 will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for work along the road berm. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 65 between Leipsic and the Henry County line will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for berm work. Work is being performed by the Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 694 east of Ohio 115 will be closed beginning June 1 for five days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 115 and U.S. 224 back to Ohio 694. Work is being done by Putnam County ODOT maintenance garage.
Van Wert County
Ohio 49 in the village of Convoy will be closed for approximately two days beginning May 21 for a railroad crossing repair. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 30 and U.S. 224. Work is being done by Genesee and Wyoming Railroad.
Ohio 49 south of Convoy will be reduced to one lane for a tile replacement. Work is being done by the Van Wert County ODOT maintenance garage.
Ohio 697 west of Point Wetzel Road will be closed for approximately 45 days beginning June 8 to replace the bridge over the Auglaize River. Traffic will be directed onto Ohio 116 to Ohio 81 to Ohio 66 back onto Ohio 697. Work is being done by Brumbaugh Construction, Inc., Arcanum.
Wyandot County
Ohio 53 from just west of Ohio 37 to just east of Upper Sandusky will be closed beginning May 26 for approximately two weeks for three culvert replacements. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 37, Ohio 294 and Ohio 67 back to Ohio 53. Work will be done by Wyandot County ODOT maintenance garage.
U.S. 23/30 northbound and southbound at Upper Sandusky is currently reduced to one lane through the work zone for bridge and pavement repair and resurfacing. On U.S. 23 the zone extends from south of Ohio 182 to just south of County Road 47, and on U.S. 30 from the U.S. 23 split to Township Highway 103. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction, Columbus.
U.S. 23 northbound entrance ramp from eastbound U.S. 30 closed May 4 for three weeks for pavement resurfacing and bridge deck repair. Traffic detoured onto U.S. 30, Ohio 199 back to U.S. 23. The ramp is expected to reopen by the Memorial Day holiday. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction, Columbus.
