ODOT District Two Weekly Construction Update

Updates are highlighted in bold and underlined.

Lucas/Wood Counties

1. Interstate 75: Widening *UPDATE*
Wood & Hancock Counties (170-14, 199-14, 237-14 & 3000-14):

Interstate Restrictions:  Effective Wednesday, June 22, through Friday, June 24, nightly from 7pm to 6am, I-75, between SR 613 (Exit 164) and US 224 (Exit 159), may be reduced to one lane for traffic pattern change.  Motorists are advised of changing traffic patterns in this work zone.

Through November, overnight, from 7pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg and CR 99 in Hancock County.  Through December, southbound I-75 is reduced to two lanes from US 20 to I-475 in Perrysburg. Through December, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between US 20 in Perrysburg and CR 99 in Hancock County.

Ramp Restrictions:

·         Through September, the ramp from northbound I-75 to westbound I-475 in Perrysburg will be closed for bridge work.  Detour: SR 795 (Exit 195); southbound I-75.

·         Through September, the ramp from eastbound I-475 to northbound I-75 in Perrysburg will be closed for bridge work.  Detour: southbound I-75; SR 582 (Exit 187).

·         Through October, southbound I-75 to westbound I-475 is reduced to one 11-foot lane for pavement installation.

·         Through July, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on the ramps from northbound and southbound I-75 to Cygnet Road (Exit 171) and from Cygnet Road to northbound and southbound I-75.

Local Routes:
Through June, Bays Road at I-75 is closed for bridge work.  Detour: SR 25; SR 281; Solether Road.

Through December, Township Road 101 in Hancock County, between CR 220 and TR 142, is closed for bridge work over I-75.

Project complete: October 2017.  All work is weather permitting.

2. Interstate 75: Widening *INTERSTATE RESTRICTIONS THIS WEEKEND*
Lucas County (485-14, 536-14):
  Effective Friday, June 17 at 8:30pm through Monday, June 20 at 6am, southbound I-75 from I-280 to Lagrange Street will be reduced to one lane for pavement work. Effective Monday, June 20, motorists are advised of the new, traffic pattern on the ramp from southbound I-75 to North Expressway Drive (Exit 207).

Effective Friday, June 24 at 8:30pm through Monday, June 27 at 6am, northbound I-75, between Lagrange Street and Stickney Avenue will be reduced to one lane for pavement work.

Through September 2018, overnight, 7pm through 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, from I-475 in Toledo to I-280 for bridge work.  Through September, one lane of I-75 traffic is maintained in the current northbound lane and one lane of traffic is relocated to southbound I-75 and separated by barrier wall.

The following ramps are closed:

  • Through July, the ramp from Phillips Avenue to northbound I-75.  Detour: Manhattan Boulevard; Lagrange Street; South Expressway Drive.
  • Through July, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Phillips Avenue (Exit 206).  Detour: North Expressway Drive (Exit 207); Stickney Avenue; South Expressway Drive.
  • Through September, the ramp from northbound I-75 to Jeep Parkway (Exit 205A).  Detour: Berdan Avenue (Exit 205B); Detroit Avenue.
  • Through September, the ramp from northbound I-75 to Phillips Avenue (Exit 206).  Detour: south Expressway Drive (Exit 207); Stickney Avenue; North Expressway Drive.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep Parkway to southbound I-75.  Detour: Berdan Avenue.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Willys Parkway to northbound I-75.  Detour: Berdan Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Willys Parkway (Exit 205A).  Detour: Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B).

Local Streets:

Through June, South Expressway Drive is restricted to a single lane between Stickney Avenue and Lagrange Street.

Through July, expect lane restrictions on Phillips Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through September, Jeep Parkway from Central Avenue to Berdan Avenue is closed.  Detour: Central Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Berdan Avenue.

Through September, the ramp from northbound I-75 to Berdan Avenue is restricted to right turn only movements.  Suggested alternate route: Berdan Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue; Haverhill Drive.

Through November, Elm Street and Wersell Avenue at South Expressway Drive, is closed.

Through May 2017, the Polish Village Overpass is closed for bridge work.  Detour: North Expressway Drive; Stickney Avenue; South Expressway Drive.

Through July 2018, lane restrictions are possible on Detroit Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, expect lane restrictions on Berdan Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, Willys Parkway from Pioneer Lane to Jeep Parkway is closed.

Project complete: September 2018.  All work is weather permitting.

3. Interstate 75: Pavement Rehabilitation *RAMP CLOSURE FRIDAY NIGHT*
Lucas County (268-14): 
Through August, I-75, from the I-75/475 split in Toledo to the Anthony Wayne Trail, is reduced to two lanes.  Overnight, 10pm through 6am, single lane restrictions are possible in this work zone.  Through June, Oakwood Avenue, between Wells Street and Grove Place, is closed for bridge work.  Seek alternate route.

Ramps restrictions and closures:

·         Effective Friday, June 17 at 10pm, through Saturday, June 18 at 7am, the ramp from eastbound I-475 to southbound I-75 will be closed for barrier wall removal.  Detour: northbound I-75; Stickney Avenue (Exit 207); North Expressway Drive.

·         Through Saturday, June 18, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B) will be closed.  Detour: Washington Street/Downtown (Exit 202A); 11th Street; Monroe Street.

·         Through August, the interchange ramp from eastbound I-475 to southbound I-75 is reduced to one lane.

·         Through August, the interchange ramp from northbound I-75 to westbound I-475 is reduced to one lane.

·         Through August, the ramp from D­etroit Avenue to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Monroe Street; Michigan Avenue; SR 25.

·         Through August, the ramp from Detroit Avenue to northbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Monroe Street; 14th Street.

·         Through September, the ramp from northbound I-75 to Bancroft Street (Exit 203A) will be closed.  Detour: Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B); Monroe Street.

Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

 

4. Interstate 75/280: Rerouting

Lucas County (536-14):  Through December, northbound I-75 traffic is rerouted to southbound I-280 for bridge replacement.  Two lanes of traffic will be maintained.  Reroute: southbound I-280; Central Avenue; northbound I-280.  Through December, Central Avenue, between Buckeye Street and Galena Street, is closed.  Detour: Lagrange Street; Greenbelt Parkway; Galena Street.  Pedestrian access will be maintained.

5. Interstate 75: Rest Area Closure

Wood County (170-14)Through December, the northbound and southbound I-75 rest areas are closed for renovations.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

6. Interstate 280: Bridge Deck Repairs

Lucas County (1056-15): Through July, shoulder restrictions are possible on the I-280 Veterans’ Glass City Skyway for bridge deck repairs.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

7. Interstate 280: Drainage Project *UPDATE*
Lucas and Wood Counties (58-16):
Through June, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on I-280, between Navarre Avenue and Wales Road, for finish work.  Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

8. Interstate 475: ProMedica Parkway Ramp
Lucas County:
  Through December, the ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 is closed for traffic control.  Detour: westbound I-475; Douglas Road.  All work is weather permitting.

 

9. Interstate 475: Resurfacing and Bridge Project

Lucas County (58-16):  Through September, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-475 over Secor Road (Exit 17) for bridge work.  Through September, overnight from 8pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between the US 23 interchange and Douglas Road, for resurfacing.  Additional restrictions may be announced.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

10. Interstate 475: Bridge Widening

Lucas County (235-14):  Through July, overnight from 8pm until 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Angola Road and Salisbury Road/Dussel Drive for pavement work.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

11. Interstate Maintenance Work *UPDATE*

Lucas and Wood Counties:  Through Thursday, June 23, nightly from 9pm until 5am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between SR 25 and the Ohio Turnpike, for pavement repair. Through December, intermittent overnight lane restrictions are possible on I-75, I-280 and I-475 in Lucas and Wood counties for maintenance work.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

12. U.S. Route 20: Central Avenue Interchange Project *NIGHTLY RAMP CLOSURES*
Lucas County (210-15):  
Through November, Central Avenue, between McCord Road and Van Fleet Parkway, will be reduced to one lane. 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place within the work zone.

Ramp closures for bridge work:

·         Effective Monday, June 20, through Friday, June 24, nightly from 10pm to 5am, the ramp from Central Avenue to northbound I-475.  Detour: southbound I-475; SR 2 (Exit 8A); northbound I-475.

·         Effective Monday, June 27, through Friday, July 1, nightly from 10pm to 5am, the ramp from southbound I-475 to Central Avenue.  Detour: SR 2 (Exit 8A); northbound I-475.

Through December, southbound US 23 traffic is reduced to one lane from the I-475/US 23 split in Sylvania to Central Avenue.  Through September 2017, overnight from 9pm until 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475/US 23 between Dorr Street and N. Holland Sylvania Road.  11-foot lane width restrictions are in place within the work zone.  Project complete: September 2017.  All work is weather permitting.

 

13. State Route 2: Resurfacing and Bridge Project
Lucas County (564-15):
  Through Sunday, July 3, Airport Highway (SR 2), between Holloway Road and Albon Road, is closed for bridge repair.  Detour: I-475; Salisbury Road (Exit 6); Briarfield Boulevard; US 20A. Through August, lane restrictions are possible on Airport Highway (SR 2), between Holloway Road and US 20A, for resurfacing.  Additional restrictions and closures will be announced.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

14. State Route 2: Intersection Upgrades
Lucas County (142-15): 
Through November, nightly from 7pm until 6am, overnight lane restrictions are possible on SR 2/Airport Highway at Holland Sylvania Road, for intersection upgrades.  Through November, nightly from 7pm until 6am, overnight lane restrictions are possible on SR 2/Airport Highway at Reynolds Road, for intersection upgrades.  Additional restrictions will be announced.  Project Complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

15. State Route 25: Safety Project
Lucas County (299-15):
  Through July, single lane restrictions are possible on southbound (outbound from downtown Toledo) Anthony Wayne Trail, between Hippo Way and City Park Boulevard, for pavement rehabilitation.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

 

16. State Route 51: Bridge Repair

Lucas County (60-16):  Through August, Monroe Street/SR 51, between Parkview Avenue and Inwood Drive in Toledo, is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge repair.  Through June, access to/from Monroe Street to/from Rosedale Avenue, Parkview Avenue, South Cove Boulevard and North Cove Boulevard is maintained through right turn movements only.  Additionally at this time, North Cove Boulevard and South Cove Boulevard, south of Monroe Street, are closed. Suggested alternate route: Upton Avenue.  Additional restrictions or closures will be announced.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

 

17. State Route 65: Bridge Deck Repairs

Lucas County (1056-15):  Through Friday, June 24, expect lane restrictions on the Robert Craig Memorial Bridge/SR 65 in Toledo for bridge repair.  Through July, shoulder restrictions are possible on the Robert Craig Memorial Bridge/SR 65 in Toledo for bridge deck repairs.  Additional restrictions may be announced.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

18. Bancroft Street: Bridge Repair

Lucas County (59-16):  Through October, Bancroft Street, between Hollywood Avenue and Glenwood Avenue, is closed for bridge repair.  Detour: Collingwood Boulevard; Monroe Street.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

19. Delaware Avenue: Bridge Rehabilitation

Lucas County (25-16):  Through September, Delaware Avenue, between Ayers Avenue and Kress Street in Toledo, is closed for bridge rehabilitation.  Detour: Delaware Avenue; Auburn Avenue; Central Avenue; Albion Street.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

20. McCord Road: Underpass Construction
Lucas County (236-14): 
Through September, McCord Road between North Mall Drive/Hall Road and Spectrum Drive is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.  Detour: Holland Park Boulevard; North Mall Drive.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

21. Woodley Road: Bridge Repair Project

Lucas County (24-16):  Through October, shoulder restrictions are possible on I-475 at Woodley Road for bridge work.  Through July, Woodley Road, between Ellenridge Lane and Professional Drive, is closed for bridge repair.  Detour: Central Avenue; Talmadge Road; Sylvania Avenue.  Through July, overnight, from 8pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Talmadge Road and Secor Road, for bridge repair.   Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

22. U.S. Route 6: Pavement Reconstruction and Bridge Work
Wood County (170-14):
  Through June, the ramp from southbound I-75 to eastbound US 6 is closed.  Detour: westbound US 6; SR 25.  Through June, US 6, between SR 25 and Dunbridge Road, is reduced to one lane in each direction.  Lane widths are restricted to 11ft in this work zone.  Work complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

 

23. State Route 51: Culvert Replacements
Wood County (618-15):
  Through June, SR 51, between Walbridge Road and Bradner Road, is closed for culvert replacement.  Detour: SR 795; I-280.  Additional closures will be announced.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

24. State Route 105: Resurfacing and Sidewalk Repair *UPDATE*

Wood County (90-16):  Through June, the sidewalks on Front Street/SR 105, between Hickory Street and Cedar Street in Pemberville, are being upgraded.  Effective Monday, June 27, through July, lane restrictions are possible on Front Street/SR 105, between Lemoyne Road and Pemberville Road.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

25. State Route 199: Roundabout Construction
Wood County (4004-16):
  Effective Monday, June 27 through Thursday, July 7, intermittent lane restrictions are possible at the intersection of SR 199 and Roachton Road for roundabout construction.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.   On Thursday, July 7 through September, Roachton Road west of SR 199 will be closed for roundabout construction.  Detour:  SR 199; Five Point Road; Scheider Road.  The closure of Roachton Road east of SR 199 will be announced.
Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

26. State Route 199: Resurfacing and Sidewalk Repair *UPDATE*

Wood County (90-16):  Effective Tuesday, July 5, through July, lane restrictions are possible on SR 199, between West Millgrove Road and Elm Street in West Millgrove, for resurfacing.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

27. State Route 235: Resurfacing *PROJECT COMPLETE*
Wood County (441-15): 
SR 235, between SR 18 and US 6, is now open. The resurfacing project is complete.

 

Ottawa/Sandusky/Seneca Counties

 

28. State Route 2: Lightner Road Bridge Widening

Ottawa County (232-15):  Through Friday, June 17, daily from 7am until 7pm, short-term (15 minutes), intermittent rolling traffic stoppages are possible on SR 2, between SR 269 and SR 53, for bridge work.  Through August, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 2, between SR 53/SE Catawba Road and SR 269, for bridge work.  Additionally, Lightner Road, between Kirk Road and East State Road, may be reduced to one lane for temporary pavement construction.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Additional restrictions will be announced.
Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

29. State Route 2: Bridge Rehabilitation Project

Ottawa County (029-16):  Through June, SR 2, between Rankie Road and West Carlton Road over Rusha Creek, is reduced to one lane for bridge deck replacement.  Traffic will be maintained by a traffic signal.  Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

30. State Route 51: Resurfacing and Sidewalk Repair

Ottawa County (90-16):  Through July, lane restrictions are possible on SR 51, between I-80/I-90 Ohio Turnpike and SR 105, for bridge work and resurfacing.  Lane restrictions will be announced.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

31. State Route 163: Bridge Rehabilitation Project

Ottawa County (304-15):  Through October, intermittent, short-term single lane restrictions are possible on the SR 163 lift bridge in Port Clinton for equipment/material drop off.  Future restrictions and closures will be announced.  Project complete: June 2017.  All work is weather permitting.

32. U.S. Route 6: Culvert Repair *WORK COMPLETE*

Sandusky County:  US 6, between TR 94 and SR 590, is open.  The culvert repair is complete.

33. U.S. Route 6: Culvert Repair
Sandusky County:
  Through Friday, June 17, US 6, between Haynes Road and Wagner Road, will be closed for culvert repair.  Detour: US 6; US 20; SR 590.  All work is weather permitting.

34. U.S. Route 6: Resurfacing *NEW PROJECT*

Sandusky County (156-16):  Effective Tuesday, June 21, through August, US 6, between CR 74 and SR 53, may be reduced to one lane for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

 

35. State Route 19: Pavement Repair and Chip Seal

Sandusky County (1078-15):  Through August, SR 19, between US 20 and Academy Street, may be reduced to one lane for chip sealing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

36. State Route 19: Pavement Repair and Chip Seal

Seneca County (1078-15):  Through August, SR 19, between SR 228 and SR 778, may be reduced to one lane for chip sealing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

37. State Route 53: Pavement Repair *CLOSURE BEGINS MONDAY*

Seneca County:  Effective Monday, June 20, through October, SR 53, between Miami Street and Hall Street in Tiffin, will be closed for pavement repair.  Detour: US 224; SR 18; US 23; SR 12.  Project complete: November.  For more information, contact the City of Tiffin at 419-448-5401.  All work is weather permitting.

38. State Route 635: Pavement Repair *WORK BEGINS MONDAY*

Seneca County:  Effective Monday, June 20, through Saturday, June 25, daily from 7am until 5:30pm, SR 635, between SR 18 and SR 12, will be closed for pavement repair.  Detour: SR 18; US 23; SR 12. All work is weather permitting.

Williams/Fulton/Henry Counties

39. State Route 2: Culvert Replacement

Williams County (506-15):  Through June, SR 2, between CR 19 and CR 20, is closed for culvert replacement.  Detour: SR 191; US 6; SR 127.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

 

40. State Route 15: Pavement Repair
Williams County (489-15):
  Through Saturday, June 18, SR 15, between CR I and CR H, will be closed for bridge repair.  Detour: US 127; US 20A.  Through June, SR 15, between US 127 and CR O, may be reduced to one lane for pavement repair.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Additional restrictions and closures will be announced. Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

41. State Route 34: Pavement Repairs

Williams County (1075-15):  Through June, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 34, between SR 576 and CR D, for pavement repairs.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Additional restrictions will be announced.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

42. State Route 49: Pavement Repairs

Williams County (1075-15):  Through June, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 49, between US 20 and the Michigan border, for pavement repairs.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Additional restrictions will be announced.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

43. State Route 107: Pavement Repair

Williams County:  Through July, SR 107, between Platt Street and Monroe Street in Montpelier, is closed for pavement repair.  Detour:  US 20A; US 20; SR 49.  Project complete: August.  For more information, contact the Village of Montpelier at 419-485-5543.  All work is weather permitting.

44. State Route 576: Culvert Replacement
Williams County (506-15):  Through July, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 576, between CR M and CR N30, for finish work.  Project complete: August. All work is weather permitting.

45. State Route 108: Pavement Repairs

Fulton County (1075-15):  Through June, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 108, between US 20 and the Michigan border, for pavement repairs.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Additional restrictions will be announced.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

46. U.S. Route 6/24: Pavement Repair *UPDATE*

Henry County: Through June, US 6/24, between Industrial Avenue (Exit 41) and US 6 (Exit 39), will be reduced to one lane for pavement repair.  All ramps will remain open.  All work is weather permitting.

47. State Route 18: Culvert Replacement *WORK COMPLETE*

Henry County:  SR 18/SR 109, between Edgerton Street/SR 18 and CR G, is now open.  The culvert replacement work is complete.

48. State Route 109: Damascus Bridge: Bridge Replacement

Henry County (1-15):  Through October 2017, motorists should watch for additional truck traffic near SR 109 at the Damascus bridge for bridge work.  Work impacting traffic will be announced.  Project complete: October 2017.  All work is weather permitting.

49.  State Route 109: Culvert Replacement

Henry County:  Through Friday, June 24, SR 109, between CR G and SR 281, will be closed for culvert replacement.  Detour: SR 18; SR 108; SR 281.  All work is weather permitting.

 

50. State Route 110: Slide Repair
Henry County (135-15
):  Through September, westbound SR 110, between CR P3 and Appian Avenue in Napoleon, is closed for slide repair.  Detour: CR P3, CR 12; Appian Avenue.  Eastbound SR 110 in this area will remain open and local access will be maintained.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

51. Various Routes: Guardrail, Striping & Electrical Maintenance

District Wide (1053-15 & 1059-15 & 1044-15):  Through December, intermittent lane restrictions are possible district wide for guardrail, striping and electrical maintenance.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

52. Various Route: Mowing

District Wide (1028-16):  Through October, intermittent lane and shoulder restrictions are possible district wide for mowing.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

The Ohio Department of Transportation maintains the state’s largest man-made asset–the transportation system. ODOT’s mission is to provide the safe and easy movement of people and goods from place to place. As a $2.8 billion per year enterprise, ODOT invests the bulk of its resources in system preservation through maintenance, construction and snow and ice operations.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
