Dallas E. Sterling, 73, passed away peacefully at Harbor Chase Memory Care unit, Gainesville, FL, on August 9, 2015. He was with family and Hospice at his side.
Dallas was born October 29, 1941 in Wood County Ohio, the eighth child of Walter and Dora Sterling. Four sisters and one brother preceded him in death. He was married 53 years to Mary Frances Paden and they have three children, Timothy, Amy and Matthew. He will be missed by his grandchildren Douglas and Patrick Sterling, Jennifer Constantino, Ashley Ritter, Rebecca, Briggs, Dallas and Elizabeth Kirby and Frank Sterling.
Dallas was a graduate of the Ohio State Patrol Academy and attended The Ohio State University and the University of Toledo. He spent the majority of his career in commercial construction. He worked in Toledo, Ohio and many cities in the state of Florida and North Carolina.
He moved to North Carolina in 2007 and spent four years of retirement in Rutherfordton. Dallas and Mary returned to Gainesville in 2011 to be close to family. He will be profoundly missed by his family and friends.
Memorial services will be held in Gainesville, FL and North Baltimore Ohio. Arrangements are pending at this time. Memorials may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd, Gainesville, FL, 32606. –
