Dan Davis, 1976 graduate of North Baltimore High School will be our guest speaker for the 2016 NBHS Alumni Dinner.
While serving as a youth hockey coach for 15 years, Dan passed along to his players some of the life lessons he learned from teachers and coaches in North Baltimore. He’s going to share some of those sometimes-funny lessons at this year’s NBHS Alumni Dinner.
Speaking of Coaches, here is Dan impersonating one of his favorite Coaches….
During his years in North Baltimore schools, Dan excelled at eating lunch and making classmates laugh. He is proud of the fact that he attended the same school building from K-12, and still relishes the friendships he made growing up in a town so small you could count the stoplights on one hand.
Since earning a bachelor of science in public relations (or, as his good friend Bob Hamlin says, “BS in PR”) from Bowling Green State University, Dan has worked in the healthcare, banking, manufacturing, motorcycle and tire industries.
Dan is happiest when he’s moving, and that’s a good thing because his business travels have taken him to 25 states, as well as Seoul, London, Paris and numerous points in between. No matter where he goes, Dan always carries the values he learned growing up in North Baltimore:
- Work hard
- Say what you’ll do and do what you say
- Treat everyone with grace, dignity and respect
- Take time to smile and laugh at yourself
- Always persist
Cleveland has served as Dan’s “home away from home” for more than 30 years. He and his wife, Anne, and son, Charlie, are Cleveland sports fans and lovers of live music. Dan also enjoys playing with things that burn fossil fuels and make a lot of noise, and is hoping that this year’s NBHS Alumni Dinner will be catered by Wilson’s.
