Operation Safe Summer will cover topics such as; stranger danger, reporting emergencies (9-1-1), bicycle safety, pedestrian safety, and traffic signs. Operation Safe Summer includes classroom instruction (National Child Safety Council instructional material) and outdoor bicycle safety practice.

100 Ways to Beware and Be Aware of Dangerous People (Stranger Danger)
– Helps children learn how to protect themselves from dangerous strangers and situations.
– Helps explain the potentially dangerous situations children may have to face at home and in the community.
– Encourages children to learn the 100 safety rules and practice them every day.
911 Education
– Proper Use of 911 Emergency System
– Knowing all personal information: Parents names, address and telephone number

Visit the North Baltimore Village Emergency Services (Police, Fire, EMS)
Wednesday
Bicycle Safety
Wood County Park District / Bicycle Safety and Rodeo)
***Children bring and safety helmet and bikes to the library
Thursday
Wood County Sheriff’s Office
– Children will be provided with an identification card
Learn to be a Safe Walker/Rider
Friday
Party with Safety Pup! (Zootopia movie)
The children will be provided a snack each day. Parents will be responsible to arrange transportation to and from the safety program.
