I am proud to introduce Mariah Waaland, EMT-B as North Baltimore EMS’s December Spotlight EMT. Mariah joined the North Baltimore EMS in April of 2017, after completing her EMT-B class.
This was her first position in the field of Emergency Medical Services, and has gone on to work part time for Bloomdale EMS as well. Mariah advised me that she took a CPR class the summer after graduation from High School which was the beginning of her interest in becoming an EMT.
Mariah is currently a junior at BGSU where she is pursuing a degree in neuroscience and a minor in Chemistry. She wishes to enter a Physician’s Assistant program upon completion of her degree. Mariah had been awarded the College of Arts and Sciences Presidential Award on two occasions during her time at BGSU, and has been accepted for a research assistantship in the spring of 2018 for an accredited EEG Lab.
Mariah has presented herself as a great asset to the Village of North Baltimore in her short tenure. I wish her great success in her studies, as well as her career path.
The North Baltimore EMS Spotlight has been created to introduce the members of the North Baltimore EMS, to the citizens of North Baltimore and Henry Twp. My goal is for all the citizens to recognize all the members of the EMS. In my experience it is always good to see a familiar face in those times when the EMS is need.
