ODOT District Two Weekly Construction Update

Lucas/Wood Counties

  1. Interstate 75: Widening *TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGE NEXT WEEK*
    Wood & Hancock Counties (170-14, 199-14, 237-14 & 3000-14):

    Interstate Restrictions: Through July, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, between US 20 and CR 99 in Hancock County, for finish work.

Through Sunday, March 26, I-75 between Oil Center Road and CR 99 will be reduced to two lanes.  Additionally, through Sunday, March 26, nightly from 7pm until 6am, I-75 between Oil Center Road and CR 99 may be reduced to one lane for temporary pavement markings.

Effective Sunday, March 26, at 7pm, through June, I-75, between Oil Center Road and CR 99, will be reduced to two, 11-foot lanes for paving. Motorists are advised of traffic pattern change.

Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

  1. Interstate 75: Widening

Lucas County (485-14, 536-14):  Through September 2018, overnight, 7pm through 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, from I-475 in Toledo to I-280 for widening and bridge work.

Effective Wednesday, April 5 at 10pm, through Thursday, April 6 at 6am, southbound I-75 will be closed at the Polish Village Overpass for bridge work. Traffic will be rerouted using North Expressway Drive.

Effective Thursday, April 6 at 10pm, through Friday, April 7 at 6am, northbound I-75 will be closed at the Polish Village Overpass for bridge work. Traffic will be rerouted using South Expressway Drive.  Additionally at this time, lane restrictions are possible on southbound I-75, between Stickney Avenue and Lagrange Street, for sign installation.

The following ramps are restricted/closed:

  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Phillips Avenue to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: northbound I-75; Stickney Avenue (Exit 207); North Expressway Drive; southbound I-75.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep/Willys Parkway to southbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Detroit Avenue.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from Jeep/Willys Parkway to northbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: Berdan Avenue; Detroit Avenue; Phillips Avenue.
  • Through July 2018, the ramp from southbound I-75 to Jeep/Willys Parkway (Exit 205A) is closed.  Detour: Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B).
  • Through September 2018, the interchange ramp from eastbound I-475 to southbound I-75 is reduced to one lane.

Local Streets:

Through May, the Polish Village Overpass is closed for bridge work.  Detour: North Expressway Drive; Stickney Avenue; South Expressway Drive.

Through June, South Expressway Drive is restricted to a single lane between Stickney Avenue and Lagrange Street.

Through June, Elm Street and Wersell Avenue at South Expressway Drive, are closed.

Through June, Stickney Avenue, is restricted to a single lane between North Expressway Drive and South Expressway Drive.

Through August, northbound Detroit Avenue under I-75 will be reduced to one lane for bridge work.

Through October, expect lane restrictions on Phillips Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, lane restrictions are possible on Detroit Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, expect lane restrictions on Berdan Avenue at I-75 for bridge work.

Through July 2018, Willys Parkway from Pioneer Lane to Jeep Parkway is closed.

Project complete: September 2018.  All work is weather permitting.

3. Interstate 75: Rest Area
Wood County (8000-17)Through June, the southbound I-75 rest area is closed for renovations and pavement repair.  Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

4. Interstate 280: Bridge Repair
Lucas County (1075-16): Through March, shoulder and single lane restrictions are possible on southbound I-280, between Greenbelt Parkway (Exit 11) and Starr Avenue (Exit 8), for bridge repair. Project complete: May. All work is weather permitting.

5. Interstate 280: Bridge Repair Project *NEW PROJECT*
Lucas County (1002-17): 
Through Friday, March 31, daily from 6am until 3pm, single lane restrictions are possible on I-280, between Starr Avenue and Greenbelt Parkway, for bridge work. Effective Monday, April 3, through March of 2018, lane restrictions are possible on I-280 between Starr Avenue and Greenbelt Parkway for bridge repair. Ramp restrictions/closures may be announced. Project complete: March 2018.  All work is weather permitting.

6. Interstate 475: ProMedica Parkway Ramp
Lucas County:
  The ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 is open to access southbound I-75 only.  Through September 2018, the ramp from ProMedica Parkway to eastbound I-475 to access northbound I-75 is closed.  Detour: southbound I-75; Detroit Avenue (Exit 203B); northbound I-75.  All work is weather permitting.

7. Interstate Maintenance Work
Lucas and Wood Counties:
 Through Friday, March 24, daily from 8am until 3pm, single lane restrictions are possible on I-75, between I-280 and the Ohio/Michigan line, for drain cleaning.

Through December, intermittent overnight lane restrictions are possible on I-75, I-280 and I-475 in Lucas and Wood counties for maintenance work.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

8. U.S. Route 20: Central Avenue Interchange Project
Lucas County (210-15):
 Through September, Central Avenue, between McCord Road and Van Fleet Parkway, may be reduced to one lane for finish work. Through September, lane restrictions are possible on I-475/US 23, between Dorr Street and N. Holland Sylvania Road.  Through March, lane restrictions are possible on the ramps from US 20 to northbound I-475 and from southbound I-475 to US 20 for lighting work.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

9. U.S. Route 20: Traffic Signal Upgrades
Lucas County (301-16):  Through May, daytime intermittent lane restrictions are possible at the intersection of Central Avenue/US 20 and Meijer Drive for finish work.  Project complete: May.  All work is weather permitting.

10. State Route 2: Anthony Wayne Bridge Painting Project
Lucas County (220-16): 
Through November, SR 2, between Oak Street and Broadway Street, is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge painting. Additional local road closures may be announced.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

11. State Route 51: Bridge Rehabilitation Project
Lucas County (550-16): Through Monday, April 3, lane restrictions are possible on I-75, between Bancroft Street and Lincoln Avenue, for bridgework.  Additional restrictions and closures will be announced. Project complete: September. All work is weather permitting.

12. Bowen Road: Bridge Redecking
Lucas County (289-16):  Through October, nightly from 7pm through 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Secor Road and Douglas Road, for bridge work. Through July, Bowen Road, between Groveland Road and Langenderfer Drive, is closed for bridge deck replacement.  Detour: Groveland Road; Rushland Avenue.  Project complete: June 2018. All work is weather permitting.

13. U.S. Route 20: Culvert Replacements, Resurfacing & Turn Lanes *US 20 CLOSURE BEGINS MONDAY*
Wood County (256-16):  Effective Monday, March 27, through Monday, April 10, US 20 east of Glenwood Road will be closed for culvert replacement.  Additionally at this time, US 20 east of Tracy Road will be closed for culvert replacement.  Detour: SR 420; I-280; SR 795; I-75; US 20.  Local access to US 20 available via Ault, Oregon and Tracy Roads.

Effective Monday, March 27, through July, lane restrictions are possible on US 20, between Glenwood Road and SR 420 for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.

Effective Monday, April 10, through Wednesday, April 12, US 20 at Oregon Road may be closed for turn lane installation.  Detour: SR 420; I-280; SR 795; I-75; US 20.

Effective Thursday, April 13 through April, Oregon Road at US 20 will be closed for turn lane installation.  At this time, US 20 will be open to through traffic.

Lane restrictions on US 20, between Lime City Road and Stony Ridge Road, for resurfacing will be announced. Lane restrictions on US 20, between Luckey Road and SR 420, for bridge repair will be announced. Traffic will be maintained by temporary traffic signal.  Project complete: June.  All work is weather permitting.

14. State Route 25: Diverging Diamond Interchange
Wood County (8029-16):  Through October, overnight from 7pm until 6am, single lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between the I-75/475 interchange and Fort Meigs Road, for diverging diamond interchange work. Additionally, overnight from 9pm until 6am, lane restrictions are possible on SR 25, between Levis Commons Boulevard and Eckel Junction Road, for diverging diamond interchange work.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

15. State Route 795: Traffic Signal Upgrades
Wood County (301-16):  Through May, daytime intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 795 at Glenwood Road, for traffic signal upgrades.  Project complete: May.  All work is weather permitting.

16. State Route 795: Bridge Rehabilitation Project *UPDATE*
Wood County (300-16): Effective Friday, March 31, through June, SR 795, between Cummings Road and Luckey Road, will be reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge rehabilitation.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

17. Fort Meigs Road: Widening
Wood County (460-16):
  Through June, Fort Meigs Road, between Five Point Road and the high school drive in Perrysburg, will be closed for widening.  Detour: Five Point Road; SR 25; Roachton Road.  Local access maintained.  Project complete: July.  All work is weather permitting.

Ottawa/Sandusky/Seneca Counties

18. State Route 2: Bridge Rehabilitation
Ottawa County (499-16):  Through May, lane restrictions are possible on SR 2 over Gypsum Road for bridge work.  Additional lane restrictions may be announced in the fall.  Project complete: November.  All work is weather permitting.

19. State Route 53: Resurfacing and Bridge Work *RAMP CLOSURE BEGINS MONDAY*
Ottawa County (500-16):  Through September, lane restrictions are possible on SR 53, between Sandusky/Ottawa county line and SR 2, for resurfacing.  Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.  Additionally, lane restrictions are possible on the SR 53 bridge over SR 2 for bridge work.  Effective Monday, March 27, through March, the ramp from westbound SR 2 to SR 53 may be closed for bridge work. Detour: SR 163; SR 2; SR 53.  Project complete: September.  All work is weather permitting.

20. State Route 358: Pavement Repairs and Chip Sealing *NEW PROJECT*
Ottawa County (1070-16):  Effective Monday, April 3, through June, daily from 7am to 5pm, lane restrictions are possible on SR 358, between SR 163 and SR 2, for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

21. U.S. Route 6/20: Bridge Deck Sealing *NEW PROJECT*
Sandusky County (31-17):  Effective Monday, April 3, through June, lane restrictions are possible on the US 6/20 Fremont bypass for bridge deck sealing.  Project complete: August.  All work is weather permitting.

22. State Route 53: Traffic Signal Upgrades
Sandusky County (301-16):  Through May, shoulder restrictions are possible on SR 53, between US 20 and Sean Street, for finish work. Additional restrictions may be announced.  Project Complete: May.  All work is weather permitting.

23. State Route 582: Pavement Repairs and Chip Sealing *NEW PROJECT*
Sandusky County (1070-16):  Effective Monday, April 3, through June, daily from 7am to 5pm, lane restrictions are possible on SR 582, between US 23 and SR 105, for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

24. State Route 101: Pavement Repairs and Chip Sealing *NEW PROJECT*
Seneca & Sandusky Counties (1070-16):  Effective Monday, April 3, through June, daily from 7am to 5pm, lane restrictions are possible on SR 101, between CR 62 and Limerick Road, for pavement repairs. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: July. All work is weather permitting.

Williams/Fulton/Henry Counties

25. U.S. Route 20: Railroad Repair
Williams County: Through Friday, April 14, US 20, between Brice Avenue and CR 21.5, may be closed for railroad repair.  Detour: SR 15; US 20; SR 127.  All work is weather permitting.

26. U.S. Route 20A: Resurfacing and Signal Upgrades
Fulton County (8016-16):  Through April, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on Airport Highway/US 20A, between the Lucas/Fulton County line and CR 3, for signal work.  Project complete: May.  All work is weather permitting.

27. U.S. Route 127: Railroad Repair
Fulton County:  Effective Friday, March 31, through Saturday, April 8, US 127, between CR T and Ohio/Michigan state line, may be closed for railroad repair.  Detour: SR 15; Michigan Pioneer Road; Michigan East Territorial Road.  All work is weather permitting.

28. State Route 109: Damascus Bridge: Bridge Replacement
Henry County (1-15):  Through October, motorists should watch for additional truck traffic near SR 109 at the Damascus bridge for bridge work.  Work impacting traffic will be announced.  Project complete: October.  All work is weather permitting.

29. Various Routes: Guardrail, Striping & Electrical Maintenance
District Wide (1053-15 & 1059-15 & 1044-15):  Through December, intermittent lane restrictions are possible district wide for guardrail, striping and electrical maintenance.  Project complete: December.  All work is weather permitting.

The Ohio Department of Transportation maintains the state’s largest man-made asset–the transportation system. ODOT’s mission is to provide the safe and easy movement of people and goods from place to place. As a $2.8 billion per year enterprise, ODOT invests the bulk of its resources in system preservation through maintenance, construction and snow and ice operations.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
