Donald Altman, Sr., 71, of Sioux Falls, SD and formerly of North Baltimore and McComb, died at 2:20 p.m., Monday, May 25, 2015, at the Doughtery Hospice House, Sioux Falls, SD.
He was born on June 21, 1943 in New Bavaria, Ohio to the late Herbert “Shep” and Velma (Niese) Altman.
Donald married Cindy Dickman and they divorced. He then married Connie Boelaard and she survives. He is also survived by a son, Don (Jamayne) Altman of Harrisburg, SD., daughters; Donette (Jeremy) Hastings of Findlay, Deanna (Wayne) Gaw of San Francisco, CA., a brother Carl (Janet) Altman, sister Sue (Bruce) Meyers both of Leipsic, ten grandchildren: Krista, Taylor, Nicole, Seth, Amanda, Adelaide, Olivia, Jeremy Jr. “JJ”, Troy, Conner and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Dawn R. Cortez.
Don was a graduate of Leipsic High School. He worked as a police office for Kalida, Leipsic, North Baltimore and McComb. He also worked for the Waste Water Departments in Leipsic, North Baltimore and McComb and was the former Village Administrator for North Baltimore.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME (in Findlay). A funeral service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
