Donald Lee Simon, 89

Donald Lee Simon, 89, of Findlay, died at 11:47 a.m., Sunday, April 2, 2017, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.  He was born on July 4, 1927, in North Baltimore to the late Everett and Opal (Slocum) Simon.  He married Judy Shafer on November 18, 1963 and she preceded him in death on January 6, 1988.  He later married Shelia Risner on June 23, 1990, and she survives.

Don is also survived by his sons: Alan Simon of Findlay, Randy Simon of Alvada, Jeffrey (Susan) Simon of Findlay and Donnie (Tammy) Simon of Fostoria; 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers: Gene, Cloyce and Cloyd Simon; his daughter-in-law, Tami Simon.

Don retired as a Truck Driver in 1991 from Roadway Trucking.  He was a member of the Teamsters.  He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed keeping his yard in immaculate shape, but his greatest love was his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 6, 2017, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, with Bishop David Pratt officiating.  Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
