Doris Van Horn, 87

Doris N. Van Horn, 87, of North Baltimore, died at 5:51 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Toledo. She was born on February 15, 1929, in Hoytville to the late Floyd L. and Monetta “Nettie” Mae (Wall) Kline. She married Robert Van Horn on April 7, 1950, and he survives.

Doris is also survived by her son, Randy (Donna) Van Horn in Baltimore, OH; her brother, John (Lou) Kline of Van Buren; her son-in-law, Tim Wymer of North Baltimore; her beloved grandchildren: Christy (Chad) Hoerig, Joshua (Michelle) Wymer, Mark (Britni) Van Horn and Trisha (David) Shultz; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mona Lu Wymer.

Doris was a graduate of Jackson Township High School in Hoytville, where she was a cheerleader and participated in the school plays. She was a very active homemaker, who was always willing to help her family out in any way she could. She was an active member of St. James United Methodist Church, North Baltimore, where she was a member of various woman’s groups and the church choir. Doris will forever be remembered for her spunky in charge demeanor and her never ending love of her family.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016, at St. James United Methodist Church, North Baltimore, Reverend Rick Adams officiating. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, and 1 hour (10-11 a.m.) prior to the service Saturday at church.
