Dorothy Long-Franks, 92, of North Baltimore passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 3:57 p.m. at Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore.
She was born on October 2, 1925, in Rudolph, OH to the late Harvey and Bernice (Wetherholt) Gonyer. She married Ray Long on January 17, 1945, and he preceded her in death on January 30, 1978. She then married Merle Franks in August of 1980 and he preceded her in death on August 18, 2013.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Ted (Patti) Long of North Baltimore; her
daughter, Jill (Mick) McBride of Van Buren; her grandchildren: Jeff
(Annie) Long, Josh Long, Amy (Erin) Keegen and Lisa (Craig) Ebright; her
step-grandchildren: Tony (Tiffany) McBride and Tonya McBride; her
great-grandchildren: Lexi, Lucas, Paisley, Laura, Karalyn, Charlie,
Haiden, Hailey, Kendall, Kingston and Magnolia.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Harold and William Gonyer;
and her sister, Thelma DeVaul.
Dorothy retired from R.C.A. She was a member of Church of the Good
Shepherd United Methodist, and the Fostoria Eagles #430.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 20, 2018, at
SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, where visitation will be held 1 hour (10-11 a.m.) prior to the service. Burial will be in Old Maplewood
Cemetery, North Baltimore.
