Emahiser to Resign Council Seat

North Baltimore Mayor, Janet Goldner has received notice resignation from current Village Council member Holly Emahiser Ryder.

Official Notice:

In accordance with Sections 733.31 and 731.43 of the Ohio Revised Code, please be advised that interested persons are hereby notified of a vacancy on North Baltimore Village Council beginning November 15, 2017, and which shall be filled by appointment by the Council of the Village no later than December 15, 2017.

Interested candidates should forward a letter of interest and current resume care of Mayor Janet Goldner at 205 North Main Street, North Baltimore, Ohio 45872 no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017.  Resumes may also be emailed to [email protected] by that date and time.

Interested candidates will be asked to appear at the Committee of the Whole Meeting on Tuesday November 14, 2017 at 5:30pm to express their desire to fulfill the remainder of the unexpired council term.  Council will vote to appoint a citizen to the vacant seat at the Village Council Meeting on Tuesday November 21, 2017 at 7:00pm.

The successful candidate must have the following minimal qualifications:

  • Must be a resident of the Village of North Baltimore, Ohio for a minimum of one year at the time of application.
  • Must be an elector of the Village of North Baltimore, Ohio.
  • Shall not hold any other public office.

Holly Emahiser Ryder, who recently wed, will no longer be a resident of the village, therefore her resignation. Emahiser was appointed to fill Matt Archer’s term (due to his resignation), which expires December 31, 2019.

North Baltimore Council must fill the vacancy within 30 days of the resignation (December 15, 2017).

Any citizen who is interested in the open council position must send their letter of interest by Friday, November 10th. Applicants will then appear at the November 14th, Committee of the Whole Meeting (5:30 pm) to express to council why they are interested in the open position. At the November 21st council meeting there will be a vote to appoint someone to fill the open council seat. for the remainder of that term (expires December 31, 2019).
