Updated: Everett D. Thomas, 83

Everett D. Thomas, 83, of North Baltimore, passed away at 5:13am, on Sunday, December 30, 2018, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Toledo. He was born on February 5, 1935 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Ralph D. and Frances H. (Bish) Thomas. He married Shirley McCartney on September 8, 1956 and she survives. 

Also surviving are his children: Don (Tami) Thomas of North Baltimore,
Debra (Mike) McEwen of Findlay, and Robert A. Thomas of North Baltimore; 7 granddaughters; 18 great-grandchildren; his brothers: Robert (Pat) Thomas of Cummings, Georgia, and Edward (Carolyn) Thomas of Findlay; and his sister, Marilyn (Delbert) Snyder of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by siblings: Harold A. Thomas, William B. Thomas, Carolyn Vanderhoff, and Frances Emberling.

Everett served as a Corporal in the United States Army from 1952-1955. He
was a member of the North Baltimore American Legion and a life member of the Amvets. He retired after 31 years as the county road superintendent at the Wood County Engineers Office. He enjoyed bowling, shuffleboard, darts, and golfing. He had coached baseball for many years. He enjoyed
woodworking. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at
the SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in North Baltimore, where funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday. Pastor Duane Weaver will officiate.

Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery with full military honors
conducted by the North Baltimore American Legion. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in North Baltimore. Online condolences are welcomed at www.coldrencrates.com.
