FINDLAY, Ohio (Sept., 2015) – Over 100,000 Ohio veterans rely on food pantries and meal services to feed themselves and their families. This September, Military Veterans Resource Center (MVRC) is partnering with Feed Ohio to help veterans in need of food assistance.
Feed Ohio is a statewide volunteer effort timed to coincide with the National Day of Service on Sept. 11, 2015. Every year, community organizations, churches, and businesses across Ohio volunteer to host food collections for Ohioans in need.
From Sept. 1 until Sept. 30, Military Veterans Resource Center will collect monetary donations, non-perishable food items, and personal care items and distribute them to veterans and their families. Items can be dropped off at Military Veterans Resource Center, located at 423 Trenton Ave. in Findlay. For more information about the food collection, or to find an alternate drop-off site, contact Steve Korb at 419-516-0411 or [email protected].
“Last year we collected enough food to deliver over 10,000 meals to veterans and families. We hope to serve even more this year,” said MVRC Executive Director Len Proper.
Military Veterans Resource Center’s mission is to help veterans who served honorably become self-reliant in managing career and life decisions. MVRC is based in Columbus and operates five centers throughout Ohio. For additional information, please visit www.milvetsrc.org.
