Fermin S. Garcia, Jr. (J.R.), 67

Fermin S. Garcia, Jr. (J.R.), 67, of North Baltimore, died at 10:30 p.m., Thursday, November 27, 2014, at his residence, surrounded by family. He was born on October 13, 1947, to the late Fermin S. and Guadalupe(Sauseda) Garcia, Sr. He married the love of his life Paula Sue Grose on June 3, 2000, and she survives.

J.R. is survived by his children: Fermin Edward (Priscilla) Garcia, Anthony T. (Stefanie) Garcia, Tiffany C. (James) Bowling; and his wife’s children: Troy A. (Christine) Grose, Jeremy J. (Connie) Grose and the girls: Miranda, Heather, Kristina, Tabitha and Kimberly; his brother, Reynaldo (Antonia) Garcia; his sisters: Dolores (Ruban) Amador, Enedela (Guillermo) Paniagua, Guadalupe (Justino) Aquilar and Jane (Paul) Williams; his sister-in-law, Maria Antonia Garcia; 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

J.R. was preceded in death by his brother, Jesus Garcia; his sisters: Maria Rodriguez and Evangelina Garcia; and 2 grandsons.

He attended McComb High School, Owens Community College, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2633 and Moose Lodge #698.

J.R. retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 2010. He loved football (Michigan and the New Orleans Saints), baseball, softball, golf, fishing and Rock and Roll. He was a D.J. and loved Karaoke. J.R.’s favorite pastime was spending time ¬†with his family especially his grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, with Pastor Nester Reyes officiating. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
