Findlay•Hancock County Chamber Agri-Business Committee Awards Scholarships
(Findlay, OH, May 1, 2015) The Findlay·Hancock County Chamber Agri-Business Committee has awarded ten $500 scholarships with funds raised from their annual Farmers Share Breakfast at Brugeman Lodge at Riverbend and Fresh Whole Hog Sausage Sale.
Scholarships are awarded to area students who are planning to, or already pursuing, a career in an agriculturally related field.
Scholarship recipients are: Katelyn McCoy, Riverdale High School, who plans to attend Brown Mackie College of Findlay to pursue a major in Veterinary Technology; Kaytlin Peters, Elmwood High School, who plans to attend Stautzenberger College majoring in Veterinary Technology; Madison Pierce, McComb High School, who plans to attend The University of Findlay majoring in Environmental Safety and Occupational Management; Megan Ritter, Cory Rawson High School, who plans to attend The Ohio State University and major in Agri Business and Applied Economics; Shantell Rowe, Riverdale High School, who plans to attend The Ohio State University majoring in Livestock Science; and Emma Willeke, Arlington High School, attending The University of Findlay majoring in Equestrian Studies and Business Management.
Current college students were also selected to receive scholarships. The recipients are: Jesse Eckert, currently a sophomore attending The Ohio State University majoring in Culinary Science; Tyler Harris, currently a sophomore attending The Ohio State University majoring in Agri Business and Applied Economics; Savannah Long, currently a junior attending The Ohio State University majoring in Agri Business and Applied Economics; and Haley Wolfe, currently a sophomore attending Mississippi State majoring in Agronomy.
