ANNUAL PROMEDICA FOSTORIA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL FOUNDATION FUNDRAISER SLATED TO BENEFIT MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS IN COMMUNITY
FOSTORIA, Ohio, July 1, 2016 – The Friends of ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital Foundation proudly announce plans to host a two-day signature fundraising event – Cookin’ for a Cause and Golf Benefit on August 31 and September 1.
This year, proceeds will benefit local patients by helping to raise awareness and critical funding for mental health needs in our community.
“Too many people don’t know where to go or feel comfortable asking for help,” said Julie Reinhart, Executive Director, ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital Foundation. “We are committed to not only starting a conversation about mental health, but helping to improve access to care and offering support through key partnerships in the future.
The 2016 Cookin’ for a Cause and Golf Benefit planning committee, made up of over 30 community leaders and hospital staff, is chaired by Renee Smith and Jill Pixley.
“The goal is to host two first-class events that promote community participation and support our hospital’s mission to improve the health and well-being of local patients and families,” said Jill Pixley, golf chair. Dinner chair, Renee Smith, added “Over the years, community support of this fundraiser has helped to ensure local patients and families receive top-notch care in easily-accessible, state-of-the-art facilities right here in Fostoria.”
The events will kick off on Wednesday, August 31 with Cookin’ for a Cause grazing dinner and auction. The event will feature local celebrity servers, an auction and will be held at Meadowbrook Ballroom in Bascom. The following day, Thursday, September 1, the Golf Benefit, a traditional golf scramble, will be held at the Fostoria Country Club. Reserved dinner tables and tickets are available as well as individual and golf team opportunities.
