The Wind Chill Advisory has been canceled due to slowly warming temperatures; however, the NWS has issued a Winter Weather ADVISORY for Wood County from 6:00pm tonight until 1:00am early Wednesday morning.
Warmer air ahead of a storm system that will move to our north will bring freezing rain and a rain/snow mixture for a short time this evening until switching over to all rain.
After midnight, rain could be heavy at times with a total of around 1″ of rain possible. Temperatures near 40 degrees on Wednesday will drop quickly by evening.
PLEASE NOTE: Cold air moving back into the area Wednesday evening will likely cause flash-freezing on surfaces. EMA will continue to monitor this condition for Wednesday evening.
