The 2016 annual meeting of the Friends of the North Baltimore Public Library, Inc was held on January , 11, 2016 in the Wolfe Community Room with President Tonya Emahiser calling the meeting to order . Nine members were present. Pam Van Mooy, Secretary/Treasurer read the minutes and reported $3465 in the checking account.
The group elected Tonya Emahiser, President and Jaiyme Bushey, Vice President, for another one year term and also re-elected Cheryl Heilman to another two year term as a Board of Trustees member. It was reported that the number of members this year is down and so another push for memberships will be made. Memberships are accepted any time during the year. The group decided that the Book Sales will be held April 6-9 and October 5-8. Book donations from the community will be accepted at any time.
The group discussed and voted to donate $1734 worth of purchases to the North Baltimore Library during the rest of the year. They will purchase After School Snacks, a Lego Center, a Mobile Charging Station, the Movie License, a yearbook and ad from NBHS, and give a donation for the summer and winter reading promotions. The Friends will also provide a holiday luncheon for the library staff.
Library Board President, Rick Van Mooy was present and noted that Connie Phillips retired after 30 years at the North Baltimore Public Library, most recently as Director. He commended the new Director, Lori Kaufman, who was present. He also congratulated Holly Emahiser, who has been promoted to Assistant Director. He remarked that both of these local ladies have a great working relationship with the patrons of the library. Mr. Van Mooy thanked the Friends for their continued support to the Library and thanked Cheryl Heilman and Holly Emahiser for taking charge of the Book Sales.
