Girl Scout Troop 10307 is going to the dogs (and cats). We are finishing up our Junior Scouting experience by completing our Bronze Award working with the Wood County Humane Society. The Bronze Award is the highest award that a Junior Girl Scout can earn. We have spent a lot of time this year working on selecting a project and coming up with ideas to make the project a success.
We have toured the facility, learning about the number of animals they care for and the process for taking in animals and the requirements needed for getting an animal from them. We also learned about the needed supplies and just how much help is needed. We will be at the facility on May 18th helping them by cleaning and working with some of the animals. We learned that they depend a lot on donations.
They are in need of the following: Bleach, rags, dry dog food, dry cat food. laundry detergent, “puppy pads”, blankets, animal toys, dog shampoo, cleaning supplies, volunteers and money. They actually told us that they can take any donations and that they are very grateful for anything at all.
We have come up with a plan and need your help. There will be a drop off station at Millstream Credit Union on Main Street. You may also drop off donations to 300 North Main Street. We will be out in the community where we would like to share information with you about what we have learned.
We will be accepting donations from May 5th through May 15th.
