Harold “Tom” E. Rister, Jr., 64, of Van Buren and formerly of North Baltimore, died 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2016. He was born on July 20, 1952, in Bowling Green, to the late Harold E., Sr. and Ruth Ann (Chapman) Rister. He married Jean Bryan on April 7, 1969, and she survives.
Tom is also survived by his son, Chad (Abbi) Rister of North Baltimore; his daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Flick of Findlay; his brothers: Mike (Debbie) Rister of North Baltimore, Greg (Linda) Rister of North Baltimore and Eric Rister of TN; his sisters: Marcia Adams of Ft. Worth, TX and Eugenia Patterson of North Baltimore; his beloved grandchildren: Brandon, Drew and Emma Rister; Jenna, Audree and Logan Flick. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Timothy Rister and Rodney “Hot” Rister.
Tom worked as an Engineer for D.T.R. in Bluffton.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 22, 2016, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore. Bishop David Pratt officiating.
Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore. Visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
