Helen Patterson, 95

Helen Patterson, 95, of rural Findlay passed away at 8:55 AM on Thursday, July 13th, 2017 at her residence. She was born on February 21, 1922, in Ann Arbor, MI to the late William and Edith (Love) Eckert.  She married Dwight E. Patterson on December 21, 1940, and he preceded her in death on December 3, 1995.

Helen is survived by her sons: Melville (Betty) Patterson, Sr. of Findlay, Dwight (Ruth) Patterson of North Baltimore, Timm (Deborah) Patterson of North Baltimore and Mike (Cyndi) Patterson of Bloomdale; her daughter, Kathy (Dennis) McGrain of Van Buren; her sister, Edith Irwin of Findlay; her grandchildren: Harold Patterson, Laurie (Sam) Girdler, Mel (Doreen) Patterson, Jr., Tiffany (Tom) Mika, Mark Patterson, Katie (Jason) Shull, Michael (Deserae) Patterson, Ben (Brianna) Patterson, Clint (Beka) Patterson, Dustin (Angie) Patterson, Alexandra (Landon) McGrain and Tyler McGrain; 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jack L. Patterson; her granddaughter, Sara Potter; her brothers: William and Arthur Eckert; her
sisters: Clara Leader and Mary Patterson; her daughter-in-law, Martha Patterson.

Helen was a homemaker and enjoyed helping her husband on the farm.  She was a faithful and active member of Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist, North Baltimore.  She was a very dedicated and loyal mother who loved her children unconditionally.  She exuberated an eternal and youthful spirit that was contagious through her smile.  Helen was one that never let the small things in life weigh on her or become a bother.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at the Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist, with Reverend Susan Kronbach officiating.  Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
