Hornets Sting Tigers at Homecoming

The Hornets of Cory-Rawson came to North Baltimore’s Memorial Field to ruin Homecoming, at least as far as football was concerned, and they got away with it, by scoring on late drives at the end of each half, for a 17 – 14 BVC win.

Following a scoreless first quarter, NB would score on a Taylor Bishop one yard run a couple of minutes into the 2nd, with a Noah Brian PAT kick, and the Tiger take a 7 – 0 lead. With just under a minute to play in the first half, C – R scored on a 24 yard pass from Mason Warnimont to Jadyn Hall, Kemp hit the PAT and the game is knotted at seven at the half.

The defensive battle continued though the 3rd quarter with the Hornets connecting on a 32 – yard Field Goal (Kempf) for the only score in the third.

In the fourth quarter, the Tigers put together a great drive, chewing up yardage and clock, scoring on a Bishop 2 yard run (Brian kick) with around seven minutes to go in the game and the lead 14 – 10.

But with more than enough time to score, Warnimont led C – R down the field, hitting Austin Price from 14 yards (Kempf kick) to take the lead for good 17 – 14.

NB got the ball back, low on time and long on yards, was not able to sustain the drive and turned the ball over on downs with a half minute to go.

NB falls to 4 – 3 overall, 0 – 2 BVC Valley Division; Cory – Rawson is now 3 – 4, 1 – 1 BVC Blanchard Division.

Taylor Bishop ran the ball 30 times for 187 yards and 2 TD’s. QB Brady Rader attemped 34 passes, competing 13, for 98 yards, with no interceptions. Rader’s main receiving targets were Sean Watson with 6 catches for 57 yards and Adam Flores with 3 catches for 15 yards.

Cory – Rawson picked up 292 total yards (98 passing – 194 rushing).
