Hospital to Host Women’s Program on Breast and Colon Cancers

February 4, 2015, Bowling Green, OH – Avoiding, detecting and curing breast, and colon cancers are the topics of discussion for this month’s Women’s Health Series, “Positively Pink”, presented by Wood County Hospital on Thursday, Feb. 12.

Area women are invited to attend the program, free of charge, to hear Dr. Robert Lavey, a radiation oncologist at the Maurer Family Cancer Center, present information about the different types of cancers women are most likely to get, how to detect them and what steps to take if they are found. Gena Tuckerman, owner of Boutique Fabulous in Bowling Green, will also be available to showcase different products available at her volunteer-run Women’s Cancer and Wellness Center, such as breast prosthesis, handcrafted gifts, garments and other organic products.

Attendees will also enjoy refreshments, free samples and be eligible for door prizes. Activities begin at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation is from 7-9 p.m. in the Wood County Hospital meeting rooms. To register, visit www.woodcountyhospital.org or call (419) 354-8887.
