Janet Holloway, 78, of Findlay and formerly of Cygnet

Janet Holloway, 78, of Findlay and formerly of Cygnet, died at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 3, 2024, at her residence.  She was born on March 14, 1946, in Findlay to the late Earl “Deke” and Lois (McGarvey) Vanaman.  She married William M. Holloway on January 29, 1971, and he preceded her in death on February 26, 2014.  

Janet is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Bill) Bucher of North Baltimore; step-son, William (Mie) Holloway of TX; step-daughter, Cindy Jo Sigg of VA; brother, Ed (Renee) Vanaman of North Baltimore; grandchildren: Jordan, Ben, Greg, Kevin, Lisa, Katie and Julia.  

Janet retired after 30 years from 5/3rd Bank, where she was a Loan Officer.  She was a member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Baltimore, North Baltimore American Legion Auxiliary Post 539 and Fraternal Order of Eagle’s #2633.  Janet enjoyed camping at the Paradise Acres Camp Ground for over 30 years, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan.  

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2024, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, where visitation will be held 1 hour (10-11 a.m.) prior to the service.  Jeannine Grimm officiating.  Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore.  

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Baltimore.

  1. Wonderful Lady gone too soon. I have many many wonderful memories growing up with the Holloway family, Jan was like a second Mom to me, the camping trips, the fishing trips and just being with them and all their friends at the campground are memories I will treasure. I hope you and Bill are together at your new campground because that is something you both loved very much. Prayers go out to Suzanne and her family as she goes through this tough time, but she is like her Mom, one strong Lady.
