The North Baltimore Board of Education met last Tuesday for the regular monthly meeting. Member Tim Archer was absent.

One of their first responsibilities was to give the oath of office to Mrs. Jaimye Bushey, who is assuming the role of Vice President , since the departure of former VP, Russell Bretz who has moved to Columbus.

After the treasurer’s report Superintendent Ryan Delaney gave a brief administrative report. He talked about the “incredible change” noticeable on the new athletic fields—softball and baseball– in the last few days. He stated there have been between 13-15 people working each day for the last four days. The recently acquired (donated) turf is also being installed in the Woodruff Building.

Delaney mentioned that Open House will be held on Monday, August 15, from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at both Powell Elementary and the NBHS/MS building. He also mentioned this is the same date as the “Rotary Corn Roast” in the village. This is also the date of the “Back to School”Luncheon for the Staff and Board.

The first day of classes for North Baltimore will be the 17th of August.

Other highlights of the meeting included:

*Approved a contract for Daniel Davis, Intervention Specialist . His previous two years were at Edgerton Schools. Vote: 3-0
