So, one of the big questions around North Baltimore, Ohio is… “Just what is ‘Race O’ Rama'”???

Three Slot Car Tracks!

What we do is sell models, die-cast, and slot cars and slot car accessories. We also race slot cars of H/O scale and 1/24th scale, we currently have 3 -tracks for racing with the addition of a 75′ Drag strip coming soon.

The 3 tracks we currently have are:

– a wood routered 4 – lane H/O scale road course track (on a 5′ by 18′ layout),

– an 85′ 8-lane Tri-Oval race track for 1/24th scale,

– and a 113′ Paperclip style road-course for 1/24th scale.

For those people who aren’t familiar with scales in the hobby – H/O scale is 1/64th or the size of Hot Wheels, and 1/24th is the size of plastic models.

How much will it cost:

Now for how the racing side of our business works is:

For $ 20 you can rent a car and controller for all 5 hours of operation, if you have your own car and controller the charge is $ 8 for all day to practice.

When we hold races you bring your own car and controller in, racing your car according to the ‘class’ of racing for that day. Practice for that day is $ 8 and race entry is $ 8.

The classes that we are currently running will be:

– Thursday night 2-classes on the road course,

– Friday 2-classes on the H/O track and 1 class on the Oval,

– Saturday will be drag racing,

– and Sunday 2-classes on the Oval, 1-class on the road course, and 1-class on the drag strip.

Instruction and Seminars offered

We offer instruction on how to race on our tracks, we will also be offering seminars on slot car racing.

We have something for every-one’s budget, rental cars and controllers, used cars and controllers (which used cars range from about $ 35-$ 50 and a used controller $ 15-$ 40), and brand new cars that you build and new controllers (new cars start at about $ 85 and new controllers at $ 65).

History of the business

We have had our business for 4-1/2 years in Fremont, Ohio under our old name J & B Raceways, the building in Fremont had been recently sold and we had to move, we thought we would change the name and start fresh, as originally we had bought the business from our friends estate of whom I had helped run the business for 10 years.

I have over 39 years experience in the hobby mostly with H/O scale and 15 years experience with 1/24th scale slot car racing.

We currently host a race for the Ohio Oval traveling series in March, and the Ohio Challenge Cup traveling road course series in May, we do have weekly racing and monthly series racing (a race on average last about 45 minutes). For our series racing there are trophies.

For a different gift idea this Christmas, we have gift certificates available.

The public is always welcome. We will have our road course and drag strip up and running soon.
