Lady Tiger Softball rallies to beat Vanlue 5 – 4

submitted by Coach Hernandez

Vanlue’s lead was 4-3 in the top of the seventh inning, but the Wildcats had no idea that the Tiger bats were about to attack.

Junior Olivia Frost couldn’t have picked a better time to explode at the plate and record her first hit of the season, with a single to left, to lead off the 7th inning. Senior Morgan Baltz followed with a single of her own, on chopper up the middle. After a pop-out to right, sophomore Bailey Boyer crushed her game-winning triple to left-center to finish off the Wildcats, to secure 5-4 victory for the Lady Tigers.

Also providing hits for the Lady Tigers were Freshman Paige Hyatt with an RBI double, Sophomore Makayla Light with a single, Junior Cheyenne Hernandez with a double, Junior Kelcie Bean with a single, and Senior Makayla Rein with a single.

The Lady Tigers are now 4-5 overall & 3-1 the BVC. Vanlue falls to 2-4 overall & 1-3 in the BVC.
