North Baltimore Softball wins in OHSAA Division IV District quarterfinal tournament play, at North Baltimore.
Tigers (17 – 5) and the #2 seed beat Arlington (9 – 12) by a score of 9-3, Friday evening.
KatelynWeinandy (12 – 1) was the winning pitcher, allowing just one earned run on 3 hits.
Arlington opened with a 2 – 0 lead in the 2nd inning, but NB came right back with 3 runs of their own, to take a lead that would never be threatened again.
Leading hitters for the Tigers were Makenna Ray and Bailey Boyer who had three hits each, Jasmine McNett had 2 singles and Paige Hyatt had a single, a double and 2 RBI. Weinandy also had a single with 2 RBI.
NB will advance in the Fostoria District, now facing #4 seed Carey (12-4), at 5 p.m.m Wednesday, May 17, in a district semifinal contest at Fostoria High School.
