The North Baltimore High School Lady Tiger Basketball team battled with the Delphos St. John’s Blue Jays at Bluffton High School in the Sectional Finals. St. John’s (14-9) took an early lead, and were able to hang on for the win, 57 – 47, after the Tigers cut the lead to 2 points with time running out!
Delphos dominated the first two quarters in building a 26-10 halftime lead. They would still lead 38-26 heading into the fourth quarter. From there they had to hold on for dear life, as the foul-ravaged Tigers (21-3) made a late game rally, cutting that big lead to 49-47, with around a minute and a half to play.
But Delphos continued to nail the free throws, going 8 for 10 in the final 90 seconds. For the game, the Jays shot 25 for 31 (80.6%). NB was whistled for 26 total fouls, 20 in the 2nd half.
