Friday night was full of hugs and tears as the Lady Tigers hosted the Liberty Center Tigers in their final regular season home game of the year. NB celebrated the careers of the five seniors on the team: Morgan Rose, Emily Gerdeman, Cheyenne Hernandez, Morgan Sams and Kelcie Bean. The night was an overwhelming success as the Tigers were easily able to put the pre-game festivities aside and get right to the business of playing softball.
The Lady Tigers scored 12 runs in the first two innings to cruise to a 12 – 4 victory over the Liberty Center Tigers. Leading the way for the Tigers with two hits each were Bailey Boyer, Jasmine McNett, Katelyn Weinandy, Cheyenne Hernandez, Morgan Rose and Morgan Sams who also tagged her first career homerun. Cheyenne Hernandez (4-1) gets the win on the mound going 4 innings and recording 5 strikeouts.
The Lady Tigers are the #3 seed in the tournament this year and will host their first tournament game on Thursday, 5/12, at 5:00. They will play the winner of the Columbus Grove vs. Vanlue game that will take place on Monday, 5/9.
