Lady Tigers Win Nail Biter

The Lady Tigers hosted the Arcadia Redskins Wednesday night with hopes of a BVC title share looming in the air. The Redskins however had a different idea, they stomped on the Tigers with both feet early on, jumping out to a quick 5 – 0 lead before NB could catch their breath.

But the Lady Tigers never flinched, they calmly worked their way back into the game one run at a time. Throughout the rest of the game NB would close the gap then Arcadia would pull away time and time again until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Tigers would knot it up at 10 – 10.

In the bottom of the seventh after holding the Redskins scoreless Tigers Sophomore Paige Hyatt was able to lead off the inning with a single, a sac bunt by Makayla Light moved her to second then an RBI walk off single by Makenna Ray brought her home for the 11-10 win.

The Tiger attack was led by Katelyn Weinandy 4-4 with 2 singles, 2 doubles and 4 RBI’s and Paige Hyatt 3-4 with a single, double, homerun and 2 RBI’s. Jasmine McNett (2-2) gets the win on the mound coming in for relief in the top of the seventh inning.

The Lady Tigers will play host to Liberty Center on Friday afternoon which will also be senior night as we say farewell to five Lady Tiger Seniors.

WP-McNett (2-2)   NB Hitters: Ray 1B, 2B, RBI; Boyer 1B, RBI; McNett 2-1B; Weinandy 2-1B, 2-2B, 4 RBI; Hernandez 1B, RBI; Bean 1B, 4 RBI; Hyatt 1B, 2B, HR, 2 RBI; M. Light 2B
