UPDATE with STATS: Lady Tigers Win Thriller Over Riverdale

The North Baltimore Girls Basketball team spotted Riverdale 9 points to start the game, fell behind by as many as 16, but NB managed to be down just one point at the half. By the time regulation play┬áhad ended, the score was knotted at 58’s.

In overtime, just like regulation, it was a rock em sock game, with great plays, physicality, errant passes and clutch baskets that would see the 13 – 1 Tigers win this BVC battle 66 – 65.

GBB Stats vs Riverdale

NB was able to shoot 50% on their 2 – point and 3 – point shots, while shooting 72% on their free throws. The Tigers had 23 turnovers, mostly from ineffective passing of the ball. But NB won the battle of the boards against the tall and talented girls from Riverdale, led by Olivia Frost with 15 rebounds and 11 points. Kiah Powell also played tough in the paint, hitting 20 points. Lacey Trumbull hit for 10 points, even spending a lot of time on the bench in foul trouble. Bailey Boyer also hit 10 points and provided the solid leadership needed. Alivia Light hit a couple of key 3 – pointers on the way to 8 points. Katelyn Weinandy hit 7 clutch points coming off the bench.

Riverdale (9 – 5, 5 – 1 in the BVC) has the leagues leading scorer Sydney Holderman who averages 21.1 points per game, she scored 19.

Coach Adam Burris say, “Wow!! Gutsy effort!! Thanks for all the fans coming out and supporting the girls!!”.
