WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) released the following statement on Independence Day.
“The 4th of July is the date we celebrate when patriots, from the thirteen original colonies, at a hall in Philadelphia, approved a document that would alter the course of history. That’s where the foundation of our great country was born, with the idea that all men are created equal and endowed with certain unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
These values have stood the test of time, thanks in part to the brave men and women that have answered the call to defend them. This year, on the 241st birthday of our nation, we celebrate the foresight and fortitude of our founders, and commit to strive to uphold the ideals that are this country’s bedrock.”
