Letter to the Editor;
This past Saturday we were fortunate enough to be in attendance at the annual Village of North Baltimore Halloween Parade. It was heartwarming to watch such a wonderful crowd turn out to celebrate together downtown. It was a cold but clear night and while the parade ran “backwards” the people gathered to watch were enthusiastic.
The community gathering after the parade at the Fire Station for doughnuts and cider and the number of people who came out was the true embodiment of small town charm and living.
There are so many people who made this Halloween Parade Event possible. I would like to thank the following:
*Cheryl Heilman for being our Grand Marshal for this year’s Parade.
Thanks for everything you do for us Miss Cheryl!
*Reineke Jeep for the loan of Miss Cheryl’s ‘chariot’
*Danielle Engard for coordinating the Costume contest
>Matthew and Lisa Adkins, Ariana Loera who helped judge all the costumes
>Those that provided door prizes: Mid Wood, Matt Beegle, John and Stephanie Swingle, and Tim and Danielle Engard
*Ryan Delany, Sandy Stewart, and Kendra Stewart for lining up this year’s parade
*Chief Francisco and the Fire Department for hosting the After Party Event at the Fire Station
*Chief Baer and the NBPD officers for blocking streets, leading the parade, and making certain everyone was safe while attending the Parade
*Bill Cameron for organizing the Float judging along with Tim Engard his judging partner
*Kathy Bucher for announcing the parade participants as they passed the viewing station
*John Kelley and Kelley’s for providing a viewing station and electricity for the sound system
*Ben Pack for providing the sound system as well as providing the NBHS Marching Band
*Doug Wickard for the use of his Gator and for the use of the Virginia Theater
* Jayme Bushey and Brenda Stimmel for manning the prize area in front of the gazebo
*Brenda Stimmel for contact information, flyers, coordination, and assistance at the parade
*All those who took the time to participate in the parade itself or the set up for the parade
We are so grateful to work with such generous volunteers and to be a part of an amazing community.
