Lida “Ethel” Ferguson, 93, NB

Lida “Ethel” Ferguson, 93, of North Baltimore, died at 9:29 a.m., Saturday, August 10, 2024, surrounded by her family at her residence.  She was born on March 17, 1931, in Hancock County to the late Paul L. and Nora (Garno) Rider.  She married Gerald Schultz and they were divorced.  She then married John Letso and he preceded her in death.  She later married Lester Ferguson and he also preceded her in death.  

Ethel is survived by her 3 beautiful daughters: Linda (Virgil Grant) Simons, Mary Jo (Chuck) Myers, and Debbie (Dave) Laube; step-children: Mary Jo Smith and Boots Ferguson; grandchildren: Jenna Simons, Natasha Simons, Christopher Clark, Ron Oates, and Brian Oates; 10 great-grandchildren; and was known as aunt PeeWee to numerous nieces and nephews.  

Ethel was a 1949 graduate of McComb High School.  Some of her favorite jobs included: the L & K Restaurant, Ernies Department Store, and Home Health Care for the Elderly.  However her dream job would have been to be a professional Euchre player.  She enjoyed writing poetry, making jewelry for everyone, and she had a great love for animals.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:30 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church, North Baltimore.  Father Art Niewiadomski Celebrant.  Private burial will take place in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore.

Arrangements are being handled by SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore.
