St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, North Baltimore
“Signs of Christmas” is the central theme of worship at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in North Baltimore on Sunday, December 21 at 10:15 a.m.
Worship opens with a hymn, followed by the lighting of the fourth candle of the Advent Wreath and the fourth felt flame added to the Advent Banner to celebrate the Fourth Sunday in Advent.
The annual Christmas musical is titled “Signs of Christmas” which is a story about kids in search of signs that tell the Christmas story. The musical includes ten contemporary Christmas songs, as well as some traditional carols. Leading the production are Emily Meyerson, Janet Goldner, and Beth Williams. Near the conclusion of the musical, Pastor Ralph Mineo will have conversation with the youth, as a “dialogue sermon,” applying the message to daily living.
Holy Communion will then be celebrated by the congregation, followed by an encore song, the benediction, and a concluding hymn. A cast party for the whole congregation will follow worship.
The dress rehearsal for the cast and crew of the Christmas musical will be Saturday afternoon December 20 at 2:00 p.m. The leaders will meet at 1:00 to set up all the technical details, props, and costumes.
