St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, North Baltimore
Ash Wednesday worship at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in North Baltimore will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1. Pastor Mineo will begin a weekly Lenten sermon series titled: “Seasons of the Soul.” The first sermon is titled: “A Season For Everything.”
The traditional imposition of ashes on the forehead will be observed, to signify our sinfulness and mortality.
A ceremony of “washing the ashes” follows Holy Communion, to signify God’s forgiveness of sins, our baptismal call as disciples, and the ultimate victory over death promised in the Sacraments.
