ODOT reminds drivers to buckle-up, drive sober and hang up phones
BOWLING GREEN (Tuesday, November 25, 2014) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is reminding motorists to buckle up, drive sober and avoid distractions–especially this holiday weekend.
While most construction work is suspended over the holiday, many permanent work zone restrictions remain in place. Below is a list of highway construction projects in Northwest Ohio that could impact your Thanksgiving holiday travel.

Lucas/Wood Counties
1. Interstate 75: Widening *UPDATE*
Wood & Hancock Counties (170-14, 199-14, 237-14 & 3000-14): Interstate Restrictions
Through 2016, southbound I-75 is reduced to two lanes from US 20 to I-475 Perrysburg. Through 2016, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between US 20 in Perrysburg to CR 99 in Hancock County.
State/Local Route Restrictions
· Through December, Bays Road at I-75, and Jerry City Road at I-75 are closed for bridge work. Detour: SR 25; SR 281; Solether Road.
Additional restrictions will be announced. Project complete: October 2017. All work is weather permitting.
2. Interstate 75: Pavement Rehabilitation *UPDATE*
Lucas County (268-14): On Wednesday, November 26, from 7am until noon, the ramp from Lawrence Avenue to southbound I-75 will be closed. Suggested alternate route: Dorr Street; Collingwood Boulevard. Through July 2015, I-75, from the I-75/475 split in Toledo to the Anthony Wayne Trail, is reduced to two lanes. Through April 2015, Oakwood Avenue, between Wells Street and Grove Place, will be closed for bridge work. Seek alternate route. Through July 2016, the following ramps will be restricted or closed:
· The interchange ramp from eastbound I-475 to southbound I-75 is reduced to one lane.
· The interchange ramp from northbound I-75 to westbound I-475 is reduced to one lane.
· The ramp from Detroit Avenue to southbound I-75 is closed. Detour: Monroe Street; Michigan Avenue; SR 25.
All work is weather permitting. Project complete: July 2016. All work is weather permitting.
3. Interstate 75: Bridge Deck Repair *UPDATE*
Lucas County (1090-14): Scheduled bridge deck repairs are complete. Additional restrictions will be announced. Project complete: May 2015.
4. Interstate 475/U.S. Route 23: Interchange Upgrade
Lucas County (184-14): Through December 2015, overnight from 8pm until 6am, shoulder and overnight lane restrictions are possible at the interchange of I-475/US 23 from Central Avenue to N. Holland Sylvania Road. Through November, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on Blossman Road, between Fairbanks Avenue and Plainview Drive, for bridge work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Additional closures and restrictions will be announced. Project complete: December 2015. All work is weather permitting.
5. Interstate 475: Bridge Widening
Lucas County (251-13 & 235-14): Interstate Restrictions
Through May 2016, overnight from 8pm until 6am, lane restrictions are possible on I-475, between Angola Road and Salsibury Road/Dussel Drive. 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-475, between Angola Road and Salsibury Road/Dussel Drive. Through June 2016, lane and shoulder restrictions are possible on the Ohio Turnpike (I-80/I-90) at the I-475 bridge.
Local Route Restrictions
· Angola Road at I-475 is now open.
· Through June 2015, Manley Road at the Ohio Turnpike Bridge will be closed.
Project complete: June 2016. All work is weather permitting.
6. Interstate 475: Noise Wall Installation *UPDATE*
Lucas County (314-14): Effective Tuesday, December 2, through Wednesday, December 3, daily from 10am until 3pm, eastbound I-475 between Corey Road and Talmadge Road may be reduced to one lane for noise wall installation. Through June of 2015, shoulder restrictions are possible on I-475, from Corey Road to Woodley Road, for noise wall installation. Overnight lane restrictions on I-475 will be announced. Project complete: June 2015. All work is weather permitting.
7. State Route 2: Anthony Wayne Bridge Project *UPDATE*
Lucas County (58-13): Through September 2015, the Anthony Wayne Bridge is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Detour: Oak Street; Fassett Street; Miami Street; I-75; Anthony Wayne Trail (Exit 201B);
Monroe Street; Summit Street.
Local Route Restrictions
· Through Wednesday, November 26, Miami Street, between Stratton Street and Greenwood Avenue will be closed for bridge work. Detour: Fassett Street; Oak Street.
· Effective Monday, December 1 through December, lane restrictions are possible on Miami Street, between Stratton Street and Greenwood Avenue for bridge work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers.
· Lane restrictions on Boers-Boyer Way are now complete.
· On Monday, December 1 through December, Yondota Street, at the Anthony Wayne Bridge, will be closed for bridge work. Detour: Stratton Street; Miami Street; Greenwood Avenue.
Project complete: December 2015. All work is weather permitting.
8. State Route 65: Bridge Inspection *WORK STARTS MONDAY*
Lucas County: On Monday, December 1, and Tuesday, December 2, daily from 9am until 3pm, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on the Craig Bridge for inspection. All work is weather permitting.
9. U.S. Route 20: Holland Sylvania Road & Reynolds Road Intersection Improvements
Lucas County (145-14 & 252-14): December, lane and shoulder restrictions are possible at the intersection of Central Avenue and Holland Sylvania Road for utility work and widening. Left turn lanes will be maintained. Through December, intermittent lane restrictions are possible at the intersection of Central Avenue and Reynolds Road for safety improvements. Project complete: July 2015. All work is weather permitting.
10. McCord Road: Underpass Construction *UPDATE*
Lucas County (236-14): On Monday, December 1, through December, southbound McCord Road, between Kipling Drive and Hall Street/North Mall Drive, will be reduced to one lane for soil boring. Additionally at this time, sidewalk on the west side of McCord Road between Kipling Drive and Hall Street/North Mall Drive will be closed. Pedestrians are advised to use Holloway Road. Project complete: November 2016. All work is weather permitting.
11. U.S. Route 6: Pavement Reconstruction
Wood County (14-170): Through April 2015, the following ramps are closed for pavement reconstruction:
· The ramp from southbound I-75 to eastbound US 6. Detour: westbound US 6; SR 25.
· The ramp from northbound I-75 to westbound US 6. Detour: eastbound US 6; Dunbridge Road; Wooster Street (SR 105); southbound I-75.
Through April 2015, US 6, between SR 25 and Dunbridge road, will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Motorists should be aware of traffic shifts in this area. Lane widths will be restricted to 11ft in this work zone. Work complete: May 2015.
12. U.S. Route 20: Pavement Repair
Wood County: Through Wednesday, November 26 at noon, US 20, between Maple Street and Railroad Street, in Stoney Ridge will be closed for pavement repair. Detour: Oregon Road; SR 795; SR 420. All work is weather permitting.
13. State Route 18: Resurfacing *UPDATE*
Wood County (402-14): Through December, intermittent lane restrictions are possible on SR 18, from Mitchel Road in North Baltimore to Rose Street, in Bloomdale for finish work. Project complete: December. All work is weather permitting.
14. State Route 64: Signal Upgrade *UPDATE*
Wood County (90-14): Lane restrictions on Wooster Street (SR 64), from Dunbridge Road to Thurstin Avenue will resume next year. Project complete: June 2015. All work is weather permitting.
15. State Route 65: Resurfacing & Bridge Work *UPDATE*
Wood County (159-14): Through December, lane restrictions are possible on SR 65, from W. Boundary Street (SR 25) to SR 64 (Waterville bridge), for finish work. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Project complete: December. All work is weather permitting.
16. State Route 420: Safety Improvements
Wood County (423-14): Through December, lane restrictions are possible on SR 420, between SR 163 to
I-280, for widening. Project complete: July 2015. All work is weather permitting.
17. State Route 795: Intersection Safety Improvement
Wood County (8022-14): Through December, lane restrictions are possible on the ramp from SR 795 to southbound I-75. Project complete: December. All work is weather permitting.
18. Gypsy Lane Road: Bridge Repair
Wood County: Through December, Gypsy Lane Road over I-75 is closed for bridge repair. Detour: Dunbridge Road; Napoleon Road; Campbell Hill Road. All work is weather permitting.
19. Various Routes: County Bridge Replacement *UPDATE*
Wood County (3013-14): The following bridges are closed for replacement:
· Through December, Jerry City Road, between Emerson Road and Linhart Road, will be closed. Detour: Emerson Road; Cygnet Road; SR-199.
· Through December, Owen Road, between Walbridge Road and Plumey Road, will be closed. Detour: Walbridge Road; Pemberville Road; SR 51.
· Through December, Bradner Road, between SR 795 and Collins Road, will be closed. Detour: SR 795; Pemberville Road; Collins Road.
Project complete: December. All work is weather permitting.
Ottawa/Sandusky/Seneca Counties
20. State Route 2: Mine Remediation
Ottawa County (27-13): Through May 2015, SR 2 between SR 163 and SR 53 is reduced to one lane in each direction for mine remediation. Additionally, at this time, the ramp from southbound SR 53 to westbound SR 2 is closed. Detour: SR 53; SR 163. Project complete: May 2016. All work is weather permitting.
21. State Route 2 : Lighting Maintenance *NEW WORK*
Ottawa County: On Wednesday, December 3, from 9am until 3pm, westbound SR 2 (the Thomas A. Edison Memorial Bridge), between SR 269 and US 6will be reduced to one lane for lighting maintenance. All work is weather permitting.
Williams/Fulton/Henry Counties
22. County Road 424: Stone Arch Replacement
Henry County (607-12) Through April 2015, CR 424, between SR 109 and TR 6C, will be closed for stone arch repair. Detour: SR 295; US 24; SR 109. Project complete: April 2015. All work is weather permitting.
District Wide
23. Various Routes: Intelligent Traffic System (ITS)
Lucas County (86-12): Through March 2015, intermittent shoulder restrictions are possible on various routes in the Toledo Metro area for the installation of devices associated with the ITS project. Project complete: March 2015. All work is weather permitting.
24. Various Routes: Guardrail & Electrical Maintenance
District Wide (1025-13 & 1022-13): Through December, intermittent lane restrictions are possible district wide for guardrail and electrical maintenance. All work is weather permitting.
